ET'S INTERVIEW WITH ANNE AND VINCE ON RETURN TO PARADISE
BACK
It's the role that made ANTHONY PERKINS a
legend -- and made millions of movie fans swear off
taking showers! Now, VINCE VAUGHN takes a
"slash" course in horror flicks as murderous motel
clerk Norman Bates in director GUS VAN SANT's
remake of ALFRED HITCHCOCK's classic thriller
'Psycho.'
The film is just one of many
projects that have propelled Vaughn's career into the
show biz stratosphere over the past two years, yet this
"overnight sensation" has been "paying his dues" for
nearly a decade. After graduating from high school,
the aspiring actor headed straight for Hollywood,
where he logged guest shots on such primetime series
as "21 Jump Street," "China Beach" and "Doogie
Howser, M.D."
Vaughn then moved on to small parts in motion
pictures like 'Rudy' and 'At Risk,' before hitting it big
with his breakout role as Trent, the social ringleader
in the critically acclaimed 'Swingers.' That
performance attracted the attention of director
STEVEN SPIELBERG, who cast Vaughn in the
smashing sequel to his box office blockbuster, 'The
Lost World: Jurassic Park.'
Since then, the 28-year old performer has appeared
opposite KATE CAPSHAW and ASHLEY JUDD
in 'The Locusts'; with his 'Psycho' co-star ANNE
HECHE in 'Return to Paradise'; and alongside his
fellow "Gen X" favorites JANEANE GAROFALO
and JOAQUIN PHOENIX in 'Clay Pigeons.'
With recent cover stories in such
magazines as GQ and Vanity
Fair, and a high-profile hosting
gig on "Saturday Night Live," Vaughn stands poised
to lead the pack of up-and-coming screen sensations.
In the months to come, his growing legion of fans can
check out his work in 'A Cool Dry Place,' with JOEY
LAUREN ADAMS; 'South of Heaven, West of
Hell' opposite PETER FONDA and BILLY BOB
THORNTON; and 'Red, White, Black and Blue'
with WOODY HARRELSON.
