| In the Early hours of the 20th
January police raided Finsbury Park Mosque, 150 police officers using battering
rams and ladders forced their way into the Mosque.
The sanctity of the Mosque was defiled and 7 people in the Mosque were arrested for no apparent reason. The people arrested had volunteered for security and cleaning duties in the Mosque. Police have been searching the Mosque after they raided a flat in North London earlier this month. All these events have coincidently taken place at the same time the British government is preparing for the war with Iraq, a war that the overwhelming majority of the people in Britain are against. The justification for this un-provoked attack has been the disarming of Saddam Hussein’s “weapons of mass destruction.” Despite the pre war propaganda public opinion hasn’t changed in favour of the war. But since these latest discoveries of a “terrorist plot” to use “weapons of mass destruction” on the British public, the war can now be justified as a defensive measure to prevent “weapons of mass destruction” falling into the wrong hands. Thus the British government would be going to war to defend its own people and not to plunder another nation as the case really is. Muslims in this country will be to busy apologizing to object to the war on Iraq and the rest of the public will be to scared to. Are places of worship now the target for this “war on terror”? If so then why have they begun with a Mosque? In all the years the British government was fighting the IRA how many churches did they raid? We would like to thank all the people that have stood by us and we ask people to make Dua for us so that Allah may preserve our Mosque, our Dawah and its people.
