Denning

Denning You have been out hunting for hours, and you have finally been successful ! You have your trophy, and what will probably make a tasty meal.
Now what do you do ?

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what you don't do. You don't settle down with your prize out in the open where any larger cat or nasty d*g could steal it from you. No, you need a safe place to store your treasures and to eat in peace.

This is where many kitties make a big mistake: they take their kill home to eat it. Home is where the humans are.

And what do their humans say ? They either say "Oh, how sweet. Fluffy is hunting for us" or they say "Yeck ! Get that disgusting thing out of here !" Either way, the dumb human steals the prey and the hard-working cat never sees it again.

I suggest that you plan ahead. Find yourself a safe, cozy den where you can eat your prey in peace. The den may be a barn, like my den, or a corner of the house where humans don't go. In an ideal den you can eat and sleep without fear of being disturbed.
