Step 1

First, move the litter box as close to the toilet as possible. Raise the litter box a little bit each day. You can do this by putting it on newspapers or telephone books, or whatever will work for you. Just make sure that it is stable. The goal here is to get yourself used to hopping up and then doing your 'stuff'.

When the litter box is even with the toilet seat, put the box right on top of the seat. You might want to even skip this step and go right on to the next one. But if you do put the box up there, raise the lid and seat, then just duck tape that sucker right onto the toilet bowl so that it won't fall off, even if the kitty gets frisky with the digging. And we all have been known to get a little carried away with our digging. . . .
