J. Harvey Scott. J. Harvey Scott, lifelong resident of Pittsburgh and widely known as an attorney and politician, died yesterday of pheumonia in the St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Scott was born in Pittsburgh in March, 1876. He graduated from the old Central High School and in 1898 entered Princeton University. When the Spanish-American War broke out he left the university and joined a volunteer regiment. At the conclusion of the war he entered the Pittsburgh Law School and was graduated in 1901.
He practiced law in Pittsburgh for 23 years, being at one time associated with Jackson & Lang. He was for 11 years identified with Attorney Rody P. Marshall. In 1915 he established his own law offices in the Berger Building.
He was for many years active in politics. At the time of his death he was president of the Young Men's Republican Tariff Club. He was a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Spanish War Verterans.
He leaves his widow, Katherine McCandless

brothers, Lowry and Walter Scott, of Pittsburgh, and three sisters, Mrs.
Edna Brunt, of Denver, Col.; Mrs. Frank Brunt, of Pittsburgh; and Mrs.
William Stokes, of Crafton."
