Buncher 6, fighter attacks on the way in, flak barrages on the bomb run, resumed fighter attacks on the surviving bombers on the way out, resulting in more casualities than all the Marines in WWII. This is an authentic story of young airmen on suicidal missions, dealing with fear, bravery, cowardice, desertion, POW and escape. The tremedous cost of wars, necessary or not, has caused the weakening of great powers —— Russia in Afghanistan, the British Empire in WWII and is relevent today as one of the causes of our failing economy.

Montague was a steel-nerved, quietly brilliant counterespionage agent. Carmichael was Comarade Slazov's next assignment for killing. The shadowy Ilse loved a man who called himself Slater. One of the three would probably have to kill Ilse. Neither Slasov nor Ilse suspected that the three were one man.

A Dangerous Man is the Sequel to Legacy Of A Spy. Written in the early sixties. It is dedicated to those Contract Agents who perform much of the dirty work done on our behalf, trying with increasing difficulty to maintain their initial belief in Intelligence as our nation’s first line of Defense, constantly aware they operate essentially alone without protection or recognition.

Another Spring is the story of life in a small NH resort town in 1950 just at the first signs of the Big Change. It is the story of Reed Hunter, a veteran of aerial combat in WW II, determined to write a novel depicting the truth about people and confirm his negative opinion.
Hunter’s discovery of the bloody corpse in an old cellar hole is sufficiently shocking, but it is the Sheriff’s lack of interest in finding the killer causes Hunter to explode publicly and accept that act as proof of his negative judgment of the Town.
And of course there were far too many distractions: the beautiful blonde wood nymph, Bea Lockwood, an English Instructor at Smith, afraid of the consequences of her gorgeous body; Stella Michaud, a saucy shacker who believed her body was the passport to security.

Newly elected President, Walter Whitredge (Ind), due to the assassination of Supreme Court Associate Justice Eliot Shapiro by persons unknown, has the opportunity to appoint his successor. In the firm belief that Law alone is not and cannot be a substitute for Justice and legal ethics are woefully inadequate, Whitredge appoints non lawyer Bradford Justice, a one term Senator determined to make real ethics a major role in the search for justice. Trickey Slye and Diddleone of Boston's more prosperous law firms. There are attempts by persons and organizations, never identified, to dissuade both the President and his appointee. Engaging, interesting appropriate subplots including appearances of Mafia characters Salvatore Frascati and Giuseppe Bondari. Humor, truth and suspense from the perspective of a non lawyer. First draft written 10 years ago which Maxfield sees no reason to update.
