The Clovers, a group from the D.C., Baltimore Area, recorded several good tunes including, From the Bottom of My Heart, Devil or Angel, Love-Love-Love, and their biggest hit, Love Potion No.9 | Chuck Berry's zany guitar antics and upbeat tempos took him to the top. Who can forget this goofy Duckwalk. After changing the name of a song he had written from Ida Red to Mabellene, in 1955, he was off and rockin. Several tunes were written from real life influences. A young girl gathering autographs in Denver, triggered Sweet Little Sixteen. Johnny B. Goode was said to be his own musical autobiography. |
Little
Richard. Man what can you say? This cat has got to be one
of the coolest performers ever. A Georgia boy, who's
amazing voice and famous Whoooo, dominated the rock and roll
world as far as I'm concerned. Another performer that I
had to have every new record he put out. I about flipped
the first time I saw him in an old Alan Freed movie. A
pompadored, piano pounding, wildman. We love you Richard
Penniman and hope that one day you get the financial
rewards you deserve. |
Trivial Bit: According to Billboard, the #1 song of the sixties was
you've got to be kidding, "Theme From A Summer Place".
