Photography - Pigeons at Trafalgar Square

Pigeons are mainly congregated where food is available. Spikes and electric devices are used in an attempt to help cut the cleaning costs and rid the city of London from pigeons. Most only maim and cause great suffering, which is often seen with birds limping around. Until a few years ago traders sold pots of food for tourists to feed the pigeons and some good pictures could be taken if you put food on parts of your body that you wanted the birds to go. Now the traders are banned and groups of animal and bird carers tip bags full of food onto the ground and into peoples hands to keep the birds here. They are one of the reasons tourists come here and most Londoners want them to stay.

If you don't like birds flying around you then it is best not to come to Trafalgar Square. These young people didn't realise that when food is around the birds fly into you if you stand between them and their dinner.
