Ebooks are in fashion and all the advice and links to get you started are here, including free ebook editors to collate your stories and articles. There is even a free text to .pdf converter for manuals to compliment your software programs.
Last year I wrote an article entitled ‘Reach a wider audience – publish a booklet.' I described how I got started and why I sold my own work to keep the profits and establish myself as a writer. I received some excellent comments from enthusiastic readers who loved the idea and wanted to try it. It's a great idea for those who have an outlet such as market stalls, a retailer friend or such like. What if you don't know anyone to sell your book for you and you really have something worthy to say? What if you know your articles, novel or stories would sell but the editors won't take them? You know your audience want it so you need to do something to get all of your useful ideas and brilliant stories to them.
That problem is way in the past. There are enough free web sites containing simple editors and all the help you need to get started with a web page. From a web page you can sell or show your work to the whole wide world. All you need is a subject to write about.
Perhaps you have all your articles on your computer already to go? Now all you need is an ebook compiler to form your book ready to give away or sell. A good book will always be wanted so here are some ideas for different writers and their subjects:
Try to write the same genre and a similar theme throughout each ebook such as ghost stories, romance, science fiction, garden articles, local history, or beauty tips are just a few to get your mind buzzing. Store all of your stories in a folder before following the instructions of the free compiler that you download from the link at the bottom of this article. Keep all of your gardening articles separate from local history or beauty tips. Although you can mix subjects if they are all short cut tips, recipes or similar theme. Novels and non-fiction books can be collated in the usual way of chapters with some editors giving sub-headings for your reader to follow through or choose which chapter to read first for a how-to book. If you want to include a how-to use file into your software program then you can write your articles and tip sheets into ordinary text files and convert them into .pdf files. Just load them into your software package or create an Ebook explaining why your software is needed and how useful it can be. You can also add a link to your website and email addresses plus prices and other information about you –the author.
Your Ebook also needs a cover. This is an attractive picture of your book and its title saved in a .jpg or .gif to link from your web page. Some editors include a password so that if you are selling on-line you can collect payment before sending the password to your customer. Then your customer can collect their book by downloading it directly from your web site.
If you need a graphic designer to prepare your cover then search on-line or email me. All I need is your title and an outline of what pictures you want.
If you still like traditional paper booklets or you want to know why a booklet is so useful to a writer you can find ‘Reach a wider audience – publish a booklet' at this link for all the reasons and encouragement you need:
