The previous article inspired lots of readers to write an ebook and I hope that loads of pre-written articles or stories will now become useful. If you still have not visited the links in that article then you probably are not ready to publish just yet. Please remember that the Internet is so enormous that it can be difficult to envisage the amount of people who are reading its content. Over the past 5 years I have been extremely active with web sites that have come and gone, newsgroups I have joined and then had to unsubscribe because my computer couldn’t take it. I have met people who browse and buy but have never owned a web page of their own. In short there are millions more people reading than web pages. Some sites get thousands of hits per day while others don’t get any because the owner simply has not advertised properly, perhaps because they don’t have time. Imagine - if you have been reading about your interests regularly then you have so much information in your head. Not only have you learned new skills and ideas, you also know what works and have tips and tricks of your own.
Go to your C: drive and create a new folder now. Just right-click and go to ‘new folder.’ A box will appear asking what you want to call it. Call it ‘My book.’ Now open your word processor and start writing individual documents on your chosen subject. Save each one into your new folder before starting the next, even if it isn’t finished yet. Perhaps the first might be called simply ‘reasons to collect shells,’ followed by pictures that you have taken on the beach and a description of each shell. The second could explain how to create a seashell picture frame and contain a picture of one that you have made. A third could be about how a life cycle created the shell. Anyway you get the idea. I chose a difficult subject to show you that you can choose anything to write about. Bear in mind that you must have knowledge of your subject and if possible a different angle to approach it from. Think of all the books and articles that you could have written better if you had written it first.
If you only manage 5 articles then you have done well. Find some links and add a new page for your reader to get more information with a list of other ebooks that you have written. Include another page with your email address, copyright notice and your bio. Also add a disclaimer if you are selling your ebook Internationally, copyright and laws differ in each country and sometimes areas too. Make sure you know the rules by searching for copyright law sites on the Internet before marketing worldwide.
Now you are ready to start compiling your book. You will find free ebook compilers and advice in the article Write an ebook and earn money.
