Tips on writing letters

  • Be polite

If you insult them, they will not read your mail, they will not even consider what you have to say. Why should they? Would you read insulting letters? It only convinces them that only low class people support the dogs.

Even pro-dog people are alienated by the use of inflammatory language. The use of words like "brown shirt" is highly insulting. Don't alienate your allies or potential allies.

REMEMBER-- A BOY HAS SUFFERED AN UNSPEAKABLE DEATH!

People are outraged. Rightly so. Something must be done. Help them find a way thru this. Don't just criticize, offer acceptable alternatives.

Focus on the important issues: Breed Specific Legislation. Euthanasia of "inconspicuous" pets.

  • Be Positive

Not everything they propose is outrageous. Leash laws are very reasonable. Doggy driver's licenses and temperament tests MIGHT be reasonable, if applied in a sensible manner. How about muzzles for dogs failing the temperament test?

  • Win them over

Express your condolences for Volkan & his family. Compliment them for their concern for public safety. Commisserate over the difficult position they are in. When they are soothed by your tone, perhaps they will be in an open frame of mind. Give them sensible information.

THIS WILL BE FOUGHT IN GERMANY, BY GERMANS. IT'S THEIR COUNTRY, THEIR LIVES, AND THEIR COURTS.

You can't make anybody do anything. Realistically, all that can be done is offer suggestions, and let them know the world is watching. And that if they make foolish decisions, the whole world will know it.

Maybe you should announce this to the companies:
