:. Sessions 1-6

Session 1 (November 2, 2007)
Adley, Anika, Ateros

  • Zorndiek the mobster lord has acquired biological warhead of the gods plague.
  • Anika goes onto a space station to bust out Ateros, who was captured after a failed assassination attempt on the mobster lord Zorndiek.  She breaks him free by tapping in to the ships security system with her sorcerous powers and opens all the cells. Adley, captured as well, is appreciative and tags along.
  • One of Zorndiek’s men proves too much for Adley and Ateros. Ateros teleports through the ships systems closer to Anika, and Adley plows through at supersonic speeds.
  • Everyone makes their way to the stations transporter to safely beam down the planet’s surface, but before they get there the same guard tampers with the transporter. The guard transports them to far side of the desert planet Amica, into the middle of a violent sandstorm.
  • They spend the next day’s making it back to civilization by mentally linking to a ship to fly to them and get them out. They gain papers and make arrangements to meet with Zorndiek, and hopefully complete the hit.

People

Places

Zorndiek (mobster lord)

Amica (harsh desert planet, one city)

Elite Guard (unknown)

Space Station (orbits above Amica)

Session 2 (November 09, 2007)
Anika, Blade Shade

  • At her hotel Anika attempts scry upon Zorndiek, yet in her usual confusion, accidently opens an inter-dimensional gateway. Where a dark skinned Elf in a towel comes running through in a panic.
    • Much idiotic banter ensues.
  • Anika and Blade decide to continue on with the assassination since Ateros appears to have taken ill, and Adley thinks he has boils all over his skin, but he is crazy.
    • When they arrive the place is already in a chaos as a tall butch woman with a sword is standing over Zorndiek's dead body.
      • Deciding to take DeVille as a much needed ally they leave before more guards arrive.
  • With Deville’s “Help” they make it onto one of Zorndiek ships where they are storing the Bio Warheads.
    • She jumped ahead of them and it appeared as though she was trying to steal them for herself.
  • They leave in the ship the war heads are on, but are shot back down. Later they are forced to sneak back into the city from the desert.
  • On an outlying shipyard they steal a small transport and pay for transport in a larger carrier, for safe transport.
  • When they arrive at the next system, Talon, the group and DeVille go their separate ways.
    • They notice later that DeVille apparently stole the war heads, somehow.

People

Places

DeVille (butch female assassin)

Talon (small system)

Kein Tervold (nice guy smuggler)

Session 3 (November 11, 2007)
Anika, Adley, Blade Shade, Xavier

  • Xavier had “His” ship stolen, which is what the party has been travelling on; he finally comes out and confronts them.
  • Start off by hunting down DeVille on a chase through systems. When they make it to a place for the potential buyer.
    • There are three contacts that need to be checked out
      • First one is at a rundown old empty shipyard.  Adley stays behind to watch.
      • Second is an old Rival of Xavier’s
      • Of course a ship tries to leave from the first location and Adley tries to stop it.
  • Adley flings a small vehicle at the ship to try and make it appear as an accident.
    • Authorities arrive and see the crazy Adley in an accident and take him away to the mental ward.
    • Blade arrives then and teleports aboard and steals the War Heads back, then Anika creates fake replicas of them in their place.
  • They all flee to chase after the (buyer) to see where he is intending to take them.
    • But have to take some time to get Adley out of the psych ward, now with a criminal record.
  • They use Adley's impressive telekinesis and speed to flee from some mercenaries that where sent after them by, Xavier’s old rival Nakdel.
  • They follow him to a station just outside of the Odin the system, when an explosion shakes the skip and they are boarded.

People

Places

Nakdel (old rival and contact of Xavier)

Egand (where Adley has a criminal record)

Nakron (buyer of the War Heads)

Urson (where DeVille meets with buy)

Session 4 (November 30, 2007)
Ateros, Blade Shade, Xavier

  • We finish off the team of robotic troops that invaded the ship.
    • Ateros discovers that they were apparently sent after them by Leopold Martin a rich and powerful Duke in the Odin Empire that was the one after the weapons in the first place. Telepathically reaching out they are able to sense that the Duke and a small battalion of ships are waiting out in Hyperspace ready to strike.
    • Apparently the Duke has been wronged in some manner and wishes to destroy Odin for it crimes against him. Along with his acquisition of some apparently powerful allies, he plans on destroying the empire in this time of chaos.
    • The group flees to the main system and disguises their ship.
      • On the planet they attend a gather of a sort for smugglers that Xavier had been planning on attending.  There they are able to pick up a lot of news about current events and needed information about Xaviers missing girlfriend.
      • Blade Shade gets pulled and away and abruptly married to a psychotic spoiled noble girl.
      • They all flee.
    • As they trying to reach the Hyper Space gate to head toward Freya, for more information, they see that is guarded by several of the Dukes Ships. The Illusory disguise of their ship is suddenly ripped away and the ships open fire on them. They flee into a nebula where they discover an ancient Hyper Space gate. Ateros rigs it up to work, but it drains the ship of most of its fuel, and the jump was not successful. They rudely drop out of hyperspace midway between their trip, and are forced to make a stop on the nearest inhabitable world. Although it is habitable just barely.
    • When they start to search around they discover that Blade Shades new crazy wife has tagged along.

People

Places

Leopold Martin (Duke of Edinburgh, hates Odin)

Vorca (god untouched by plague or treaty)

Avril Odama (Odin noble, arranged marriage)

God Plague - Virtually indestructible. A symbiotic, living organism which acts much like a virus. The system of Esperian is infested with this plague, and is where many gods are banished.
Odama Regime - A long-lasting line of generals who have served in the Alliance military for generations. All members have a tendency to soar through the ranks of the militia. Ranks are usually passed from father to son.

Session 5 (December 7, 2007)

Adley, Ateros, Blade Shade, Xavier, (Anika played by gm)

  • We landed near one of the larger concentrations of people on the planet, with hopes of getting the fuel we need to leave the system.
    • We shut the ship down completely and locked it up so Blade Shade’s new bride, Bella Luna, couldn’t do any damage while we left her alone on it.
    • Donning space suits and prepping powers for the cold, we made our way on foot to the settlement, surprising the guards as we teleported through their weather-proof doors.
    • We find out the planet is named Minetia and the settlement is called Akard.
    • After speaking with the trader Kalard, Xavier started making a deal to set up a trade route as well as purchase the fuel we needed to leave.  But for some reason the Akard’s leader, Davrin, was opposed to this idea.
  • Before we finished our deal, Ateros sensed one of the duke’s ships come out of hyperspace near Minetia.
    • Ateros hacked into the ship and determined that the duke’s forces had been scattered from the gate and were being pursued by Imperial military even as they searched for us.
    • The digital samurai also sensed a small Imperial ship following it from hyperspace.  We decided to capture the duke’s ship before it could land or engage the Imperial ship.  Ateros broke through its security systems and shut down everything but life support before demanding their surrender.
    • The Imperial ship then dropped out of hyperspace and begins questioning us.  The pilot turns out to be Dakess Helene, Crown Prince in the Imperial Military and a powerful sorcerer that specialized in sensory and detection powers.
    • It turns out that Dakess was tracking the duke’s ship to find us.  After meeting us on the surface and examining the warheads containing the God Plague, he asks us what we intend to do with them.  While he likes our idea of destroying them better than the Imperial plan of burying them, he insists that the warheads be returned to Odin so that the Imperial government can keep an eye on them while making preparations and research for their destruction.
    • Since Blade refuses to remove them from his dimensional pocket, Dakess has to take him back to Odin in his own ship while the rest of the party limp back to Odin at a quarter the speed of Dakess’s ship.
  • It takes about a month for everyone to meet up on Odin.
    • This gives Blade (and Adley’s eye) three weeks in the Imperial Libraries to research the goddess Vorca, the only known goddess that opposed the God Plague and is not locked away on Esperian.
    • It also gives the rest of the party three weeks to adjust to the pinkness of the inside of the ship after Bella Luna finished decorating it.  How she managed to sneak herself and 27 pieces of luggage on board without notice is beyond us.  We safely lock her inside an invisible force cage.
    • We determine that the best way to contact Vorca is through prayer.  This prospect disturbs everyone except Blade, who hasn’t grown up in a society that abhors religion, and Entropy, who is a sword.  Prayers to Vorca surprise her and give us the indication that she can indeed help with the destruction of the God Plague.
    • Our next stop appears to be Dagon, where the old ways of religion are still taught and there might even be a priest of Vorca hidden among the scholars.  We just have to escape our Imperial captors.
    • Dakess agrees with out plan and also wants to see it completed successfully.  To this end he lets us “escape” so that he will have to “chase” us every step of the way.
  • The party flees Odin toward Dagon in hopes of finding a priest of Vorca. All the while they are persued by Dakess and his retinue of ships, hoping that he is indeed on their side in this matter and not playing them for fools.

People

Places

Kaladar (trader in Akard who wants trade route)

Minetia (barely habitable frozen world without a planetary hypergate)

Darvin (leader in Akard who doesn’t want trade route)

Akard (mining settlement beneath Minetia)

Dakess Helene (Crown Prince in the Imperial Military, powerful sorcerer)

Session 6 December 14, 2007

  • After several weeks of travel we manage to make our way from Odin to Dagon.  In pursuit is Prince Helene, although we are now unsure of his exact motives for letting us escape.
  • On Dagon we hit a bit of a snag since we weren’t exactly sure what we were looking for.  We split up to pursue different angles of inquiry.
    • Adley finds a drug dealing student who introduces him to a priest (name of god withheld for privacy).
      • It turns out that each god has exactly two followers: a priest and an apprentice.
      • This prevents a god from dying off but prevents them from being strong enough to do very much and keeps them locked on Esperion.
      • This priest tells Adley that the priest of Vorca is currently on Iserlohn.
    • Blade Shade passes himself off as a wandering professor and speaks with Professor Olus, a slightly manic scholar that knows quite a bit about religion and the old ways from an academic viewpoint.  He is certain that the return of the God Plague is just one sign of the returning power of the gods.
      • He cites recent news that suggests various fantastic creatures that were supposedly locked away on Esperion are loose.  This includes the Champions of Darkness and Light.
      • The Champion of Darkness is probably working with the Duke of Edinburgh.  He may be the one who ruined our attempt to run the Duke’s blockade.
      • The Champion of Light is probably not far from the Champion of Darkness.  He was originally created by the hound archon Novir long ago during the God War using a variation of the God Plague.
    • Anika spent her time trying to make sure that she didn’t get into any more trouble for the time she blew up the wizard she was going to apprentice under.
    • Special K wasn’t able to find out much about the gods, but he was able to find out that the fortress planet Iserlohn is about to be attacked by Imperial forces by direction of General Graviss.  Crown Prince Helene is leading the assault to retake the artificial world from Alliance hands.
  • We decide to make our way to Iserlohn and hopefully get there before the Imperials arrive.
    • Once we get there we see that one of its more powerful defensive systems is the fact it’s almost completely encased in several hundred feet of mercury, rendering it immune to most laser weaponry.
    • On arrival to the outer space port we inform Alliance personnel about the impending attack.  This handily gets us past the mercury sheath and down to the city inside.
    • With the Alliance distracted we have no problems making our way to the city square where Jaler, the priest of Vorca, finds us.
    • He tells us that Vorca guided him to us so he could share his thoughts about what to do with the God Plague.
      • It probably can’t be destroyed, but returning it to Esperion would prevent its use.
      • While the location of Esperion has been lost to time, there is an ancient temple on the planet Cathon, one of the first worlds stopped at as mortals fled Esperion, which contains the location of the ancient home world.
      • The followers of the gods are the reason that the God Plague, Champions, and other creatures have returned.  The gods are weak, but have slowly been building up the power to send these things forth towards their followers.
      • The only fix for this is for the followers of the gods to travel beyond the boundaries of known space away from everyone or to die; they are probably going to choose the first option.
  • At this point we are trying to decide whether to head towards Cathon through the Imperial armada or towards Heinessen, where Professor K’s girlfriend was last seen.  That was when the Imperials came out of hyperspace and began their siege against Iserlohn.

People

Places

Professor Olus (Slightly manic scholar who knows a lot about religion)

Dagon (A planet of schools and academies where knowledge of the old ways of religion still exist)

Novir (A hound archon who created the Champion of Light during the God War)

Iserlohn (An artificial planet used as a fortress.  Recently taken by the Alliance and about to be assaulted by Imperial forces)

General Graviss (Imperial general who wants to use the Duke’s rebellion and threat of the God Plague as an excuse to retake Iserlohn.  We’re waiting for him to show up in a four-armed suit of power armor wielding four energy blades.)

Cathon (A planet the mortal inhabitants of Esperion stopped at as they fled their home world)

Jaler (Priest of Vorca)
