I have heavily modified this amp and build a custom cab for it. It now sports a Weber P15CH. I also have made a second baffle board for it with an EVM 12L for a different sound. The power tubes can either be 4 6V6 tubes, 2 6V6 tubes, 2 EL34's, 2 6L6 or 2 KT66's. I haven't tried 6550's yet, but I don't think there wouldn't be any problems. I typically run it with either 2 6V6 or 4 6V6 depending on how much power I need. I ususally use it with a 63 Fender RI tube reverb with a 6K6 in it. It really has some amazing warm clean tone and the breakup is classic 6V6.
