>>FAQ
What if I am going away or on a vacation?
It's best not to travel with your turtles, it will be pretty troublesome.
If it's a long trip or migration and there's no other choice, you can check
with the airline to see if they accept transportation of animals. Do not leave
your turtles back in your house when you go on a vacation without proper care,
the water will get dirty and there will not be enough food, so you will probably
find your res dead when you get back. A good alternative is to leave the turtles
in the care of your friends or relatives instead.
What if the turtles fight?
It may be part of the mating dance. Unless
there is an obvious difference in their size and defend ability, occasional
biting between turtles are no big deal. The turtle can turn away or draw it's
limbs and head in from the attacker. But if one turtle are weaker in defence
and may be likely to get injure, separate them. Another reason might be hunger.

What if it eats it's own stools?
There should be no big fuss about that, i think most turtles do occasionally.
What if I don't want the turtle anymore?
Why not you want your turtles? They are nice creatures! But if you really
do have no choice, consider giving to a close friend or relative or aquatic
shops that sell turtles and be sure that the turtle will be well taken care
of. Some schools might keep small pets like turtles too. Do not give your
sick turtle away, wait till it's well. And do not let your slider free into
the wild, it may not survive as it is captive-breed and have little skill
of getting it's own food, it may be starved or attacked. The most foolish
thing to do is to put it into the river(s) of Singapore or the sea or drain,
which some local people do. Don't, because the water source is salty and they
thrive only in fresh water!
What if the turtle dies?
You can bury it in a patch of soil after wrapping it in a plastic bag. Best
not to handle dead turtles with bare hands as there might be harmful germs.
What if there's blood in the aquarium?
It probably result in violent fighting between turtles. Check for any external
injuries, like the legs, the shell... Bleeding claws if not very serious,
will heal soon. You can put some cornstarch on it too. Other external injuries,
refer here. If there's no
external injuries, check if you have given your turtles some live food and
you haven't clear them up yet. If neither, then you had better seek help from
a vet.
What if my turtle refuse to eat?
It may be because it is sick, refer here or frightened. If it
just likes a particular type of food, you can try to mix other food that is
good for it with that food which it likes.
How successful it is, well I haven't
try yet...
What if my slider gets too fat?
Cut down on it's diet, especially on fatty food. Make it exercise by letting
it out for a supervised walk (so that it won't get lost) or lure it with food
and let it chase after the food for some time.
What if the turtle bit me and won't let go?
Don't attempt to force open it's mouth or you are just making matter worse.
It may just pull it's head into it's shell with your finger still stuck in
it's mouth! Try to coax it with food or just remain still and wait till it
realize that your finger doesn't taste good.
