Marti is shown above by Erika, winning Best on Parade, at The Whippet Club Inc Christmas Ribbon Parade, 10th December 2006, Judge Mrs. Karen Harrison. He was also awarded Best Racing Condition at this event. We are very proud and happy to have with us here in New Zealand, Canadian Champion Lauralbriar Shenkhan Rum Chaser. Marti has the most wonderful, loving out going temperament you could ever want in a Whippet. He is just superb, a Stallion of a dog, and I cannot thank Samantha Martel, of Lauralbriar Whippets, enough for entrusting this superb young Whippet into our care. He integrated into our family of Whippets like he had always lived here. Definitely a tribute to the care and handling and socializing he has had throughout his puppyhood. His dramatic, elegant, and yet quite masculine profile, in a body that can't be more perfect in size, combine with a friendly and outgoing temperament, and it is obvious to all that have seen him that this is one special boy! In his very first venture into the show ring, under Judge Audrey Peach, Marti gained his first point towards his Canadian Championship, at the very young age of only 6 1/2 months! And he hasn't looked back! One of his most memorable wins came under Australian Judge, Mrs. S. Rickard, was especially nice as she not only found him to be a dog of quality, but of correct size and balance as well! Finishing under Ms. Judy Orsi in Canada, he was Best of Breed and Best of Winners, from the classes over Specials. Not only is he a sweet and loving boy to live with, but one to show with pride! |

Before Marti came to New Zealand, his mum, Brie, taught him an interesting trick - how to pick berries in the woods of Muskoka, Canada. Little did we realize he'd bring this trick to his new home and teach everyone else - how to steal tomatoes! |  |
