We welcomed our first Shar-Pei, "Bear", into our home over 35 years ago, he was a Black brushcoat, and we have been hooked ever since. Very soon after, we added another pup to our family, "Balloons", she was a Fawn horsecoat. Balloons was only ever bred to Bear, her First and ONLY Love once. Bear tradically died at a very young age. His early death is what prompted us to do indepth research on the Shar-Pei. Before we added another Pei to our family, we were careful they had very strong healthy lines behind them so such a terrible loss could be prevented for another loving family. Balloons, however, lived a very healthy life and quietly passed at the age of 11. We will forever remember each and every one for they all hold a very special place in our hearts.
The Shar-Pei is truly a magnificent breed, a breed like NO other. They are extreme in their devotion to their family, and they each have unique human-like personalities. They will truly still your heart.
We at Blueberry Shar-Pei have committed ourselves to selectively breeding for health, temperment, and longevity. We do each breeding with the intentions of bettering the breed. Our breeding stock are also our pets and were selected from some of the best lines both domestically and internationally.
Blueberry Shar-Pei takes part in the American Kennel Club's DNA program. This program is helping to eliminate careless breeding and insures proper lineage of puppies.
