B3 MAJOR CHAMPIONS FOR 2003/2004
The game that will stay in my mind as one of the best games i have ever been involved in was the week before the grand final against Ulinga. Who would of thought 6 - 18, then Paul Gilbert strolls to the crease and hits 70 odd on a pitch that proved to be unplayable. We managed to put 100 runs on the board, would it be enough?. Ulinga began well, then Mick Metcalf made a break through with some great bowling. The last 20 over's were intense as hell with a steady flow of wickets and the thought in my mind will 100 runs be enough. The point I believed that turned the match was a magnificent run out by mick. This gave us the inspiration and confidence to go on and win the game, and then the grand final. Thanks to all those who contributed to making the B3 Waterboard cricket team one of the most successful teams in the clubs short history.
