Chapter 2
One Month Later
As Lydia rang up the price for the customers jeans, she spotted someone familiar walking past the juniors section of JCPenny's. Lydia bagged the jeans up, took the money that was handed to her, and ran out from behind the counter.
"AJ! Wait up!" she said coming up to him.
"Oh hey. What's up?" AJ asked turning to face her.
"Um.. nothing much. Hey let me go tell them I'm going on my break, k?" asked Lydia as she started to walk back to the counter.
"I didn't knowyou worked here," said AJ.
"Ya do now, don't ya? Hey Haylee, I'm going on break now, k? See ya in a few!" said Lydia as she walked away.
"OK, see ya! Hey why don'tcha just leave for the day? It's almost time," said Haylee, Lydia's co - worker.
"OK. Come on AJ let's go," said Lydia as she put her coat back on.
"So where do ya want to go?" asked AJ as they got to the food court.
"I dunno, but I'm hungry. I'm gonna get a pretzel," saod Lydia as she went over to the pretzel stand, and then came back to sit acrossed from AJ.
Lydia and AJ had become very good friends in a months time. Lindsey had met someone, and spent all her time with him, so Lydia had no one to hang out with, well, except for AJ. AJ's parents (whom were rich, and let's just say a little snobby) were OK with the idea of Lydia being AJ's friend, just as long as they didn't get into a relationship. AJ never promised them that he wouldn't, since he didn't know where their friendship would go. AJ did think Lydia was very beautiful, and if he started to like her, he wasn't going to let little things like his parents stop him.
Lydia didn't care much for AJ's parents. They gave her mean looks when she came with AJ to his parents house. Just becasue she didn't have a lot of money, and didn't dress like some "proper" person, AJ's parents didn't need to wrinkle their noses every time they saw her. Well, at least AJ didn't like his parents that much either.
"Hey, give me that back! I never said you could have some!" said Lydia as AJ took some of the pretzel she had.
"Whatcha gonna do about it now?" asked AJ as he ate the piece.
"Oh AJ, your fans are here," sang Lydia as AJ finished chewing and looked up and sighed as he saw two teenagers coming up to them. In the past month, AJ had gotton a job in the entertainment business, and had gotton in a very popular TV show. Now he was about as big as Freddie Prinz Jr.
"Hello ladies. What can I do for you?" asked AJ.
"Um, can you sign this for us please?" asked one of them.
"Yeah, sure," said AJ as he signed what they held out to him. He gave it back to them then said, "See ya later girls."
"Bye!" they giggled walking back to their seats.
"Let's get out of here before someone else wants me to sign something," said AJ as he grabbed Lydia's hand and pulled her outside with him.
"AJ! AJ Mclean! Will you sign something please?" asked a fan of his.
"No, sorry. I'm on my break," said AJ as Lydia started to laugh.
"So now where you wanna go?" asked AJ as he started up the car.
"Um... let's go to your parents place!" said Lydia.
"Your kidding.... aren't you?" asked AJ looking at her as if she was insane.
"Duh. Course I was. Um... let's go to your place then," said Lydia.
"Why can't we go to your place?" asked AJ.
"Why can't we go to yours?" asked Lydia.
"'Cause it's a mess..."started AJ.
"And since when have I cared that your place is a mess?" asked Lydia.
"I dunno. OK, let's go," said AJ.
"Well that argument was worth it. I won," said Lydia smiling.
"Your so annoying," said AJ as he slapped her arm.
"I know," said Lydia laughing as she looked out the window of the car.
