Chapter 22

Back in the room with Zac, I sat on the large leather couch opposite Zac facing the hallway. We both just sat there starring at each other. After awhile I watched Isaac walk out of my old room carrying what seemed to be a picture, but I couldn’t tell whom it was of.

I’d just like to say this, silence with Zac Hanson is not a pleasant thing, and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. He sat there with a 20 oz. Bottle of Pepsi blowing across the top so it would make that annoying whistling noise. Then, he kept on pounding his left foot into the side of the chair he was sitting on, making a big indent. Not to mention the disapproving stares that he kept on throwing at me.

Suddenly I looked up and saw that Taylor was walking through the room towards the kitchen. For one brief moment we locked eyes, then just as quick as it had happened Taylor disappeared into the kitchen.

“What are you looking at now?” asked Zac who was getting very impatient.

“Nothing, just the walls.”

“Whatever, my mother better get home soon.”

“Why were are you going?”

“Out girl looking with Jesse.”

“God! Why do you waste your time with that loser?”

“Hey shut up, he’s my friend. I don’t go around putting down Jackie, do I?”

“Jackie and Jesse are two completely different people!”

Just then the sound of car doors slamming and children screaming could be heard form outside. It was obvious that Diana was home.

“Haley, I’m so glad to see you.” She exclaimed walking in the door hold two brown bags full of groceries.

“I got your message about my clothes.”

“Oh yes,” she said from the kitchen, “There upstairs, come with me and we’ll get them.”

I got up off the couch and followed her to the stairs. Just then screaming could be heard from upstairs followed by a loud crash.

“What’s happening up there?” I asked Diana.

“I don’t know, but we better go look.”

Diana went looking through all of the room, finding no one in them. Then she reached Taylor’s room and opened up the closed door. Inside were both Isaac and Taylor on the floor and Taylor’s dresser also on the ground.

“Oh no, not again!” shouted Diana running over to her two sons.

“What do you mean not again?”

“Well, ever since you left, the two of them have been fighting constantly. There is never peace in this house.”

“Im sorry.”

“No, don’t be it’s not your fault.”

“Yes it is. I shouldn’t even be here.” I said this then walked out of the room and took a seat on the hallway floor ready to cry. Chapter 23
