“Well this turned out an interesting night, don’t you think? “ Terri questioned Ike on the way to her house.
“I sure do! Jessie has never acted that way before, and let alone bring some asshole home to meet Mom and Dad! She usually hasfairly good taste! Someone Mom and Dad know they can trust with their eldestdaughter! Then come to find out Michelle was upset because she thinks my Mom hates her!“ he took a quick breath “I don’t think Mom is like that at all! But I guess you never know.”
“Well Ike she does favor me.” the tone of her voice was so soft..like she didn’t want to admit it.
“What makes you say that?” Ike asked.
“Well have you ever noticed the way she talks to me and asks me to help her?” she asked.
“Well no! Your just better at some stuff!” he said.
“Clarke Isaac Hanson! You can see it in her eyes! She makes Michelle sound so weak...like she can’t do anything!” her voice was no longer soft.
“Well Taylor does support her! He bought her an apartment, her furniture, her clothes, and her car! For God’s sake he sends her money so she can buy her food and make up, he pays the car payments, and the bills for her apartment! She needs to go out and find a job! Taylor wont support her all her life!” he said.
“Well you bought me my car! Do you support me to much?” she asked sounding bitchy now!
"Damn it Terri! I hate when you get like this! Your car was a birthday present!” he said looking away from her and on to the road!
“Well what is the difference Ike? Tell me! They have been together for five long, happy years! How do you know the stuff he does for her isn’t out of love? He does love her Ike! Like you love me!” she glanced over at him and put her hand on his knee “Ike, I don’t mean to piss you off, but there really is no difference! You have sent me money before!”
He looked at her andsmiled “You were running low! You have a job to support yourself! She doesn’t.”
“Ike....**she sighed**..never mind, your not gonna understand.....even if I try to explain things to you!” she removed her hand from his knee and had placed on her lap.
“No! Terri I want you to explain it to me!” he demanded.
“Fine! You don’t understand her family problems! Her Mom died when she was three! Her died died the following year from anOD! Her grandparents took her in.....**she sighed**....her grandpa died from a heartattack a year after that! Then two years later her grandma was diagnosed with brain cancer, and died after Michelle couldn’t keep up withthe bills, and take her to appointments! Ike she never got to go to College, like me! All she wants is Diana to love and care for her! Her grandma was the only one there! She never grew up with a Mom!So Diana is the only thing close to a Mom!” she stopped and looked at him.
“Oh, my God I had no idea! When did she tell you this?” Ike was felling horrible for just sounding like a jackass.
“She told me a few months ago! thats why she spends so much time with me!”she said. The conversation stopped there.
Mean while back at Diana and Walker’s house Michelle and Diana were doing dishes!“Um, Diana?” Michelle asked.
“Yes.” Diana responded.
“Can I ask you a few questions?”she didn’t let her answer and went on with the questions “Why do you hate me?”
“Oh! Michelle I don’t hate you!” Diana said.
“Well than why do you push me away when I askto help you? Why do you favor Terri over me? Why?” Michelle sat down at the dinner table and started to cry.
“Oh, I never meant to make you feel like that! I only feel that your no help in the kitchen...that all!” Diana said sympathetically.
“Well I can cook, and back you just never gave me the chance to show you! I had to take care of my grandma when I was 15 years old! Then she died when I was 19! I couldn’t take care of her anymore..it was to hard!” Michelle told Diana her story! Diana and Michelle were both crying whenshe got done.
