Chapter 2
PART TWO
"If you got to know the real me, you'd know what I was really like. Then you could decide for yourself. And maybe you'd stop making snap judgments."
Lisa was amazed at his ability to stay so calm. guys always went off on her when she gave them an attitude. "What if I don't want to get to know you?" Lisa dared as she grabbed her bag out of the car.
"Well obviously you are staying here. Why don't you accompany me up to my room so I can find you some backstage passes to my concert tonight. I know you have no will to go, and you'd never go, not even if your life depended on it, but I want to prove you wrong so badly. Whaddaya say?!" As Lance grinned at the look of disbelief on her face, her prided himself on his cleverness. He really wanted to prove her wrong. Then he saw the embarrassment on her face. "what?" he asked cautiously.
"Nothing!" She was not going to admit that she had tickets to his concert; why give him the pride. "Why should I go?"
"Why shouldn't you? Come on let's go because I know that I am wasting your time!" Lance began walking towards the side entrance of the hotel, turned and glanced at the confused girl. "Coming?!" he asked with a wide smile on his face.
"Yeah, unfortunately!" She got up, closed the door on the can, and slung her bag over her shoulder. When Lance held the door open for her she stepped aside and used the other. 'What a girl' Lance thought. She seemed to have good self-esteem, but Lance knew that deep down she was afraid of something. She seemed to be so defensive and guarded. He wanted to be the one to find out what was wrong. He wanted to figure out this girl.
The two soon arrived at Lance and the groups suite. "Here we are. 721. Home Sweet Home." Lance welcomed warmly as Lisa stared at him with disgust in her eyes. "Enter at your own risk" he added as she stepped inside. Lance stepped in and looked around. It was fit for a king.
"Nice Joint!" She added, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Lance raised his eyebrows in mockery. "Well I am one of the most attractive, most sexually desired teen idols in the world. I do deserve the best," he proclaimed while pretending to buff his nails. He glanced at Lisa to find her with her mouth hanging open in disbelief.
"I'm kidding geez!!!" Lance threw his hands in the air in defeat. Lisa took down her hair and ran her fingers through it anxiously.
"All right-well get the passes. I need to get going. I have better places to go, better people to see."
"Chill...I'm looking" Lance walked into the next room in search of the passes.
Lisa turned as she heard voices enter the room. A man bearing multi-colored dreads and a fubu jersey walked in with a blue eyed man with curly blonde hair. Lance came into the room holding the passes. He noticed that the girl's face seemed to brighten as Justin entered the room. A short stab of jealousy entered him because Justin had gotten the reaction that he wanted so badly.
"Lannnncceeee" the dread man whined in a childlike manner, "We told you not to bring axe-murderers into the room. Don't you know not to talk to strangers?" He asked the brown-haired girl standing in the middle of the room looking somewhat impatient.
"I-"
"Ignore him" Justin interrupted quietly. "I'm Justin" He stuck his hand out. "And you are?"
"Leaving just as soon as Lance gives me those backstage passes." Lisa smiled warmly at Justin. She felt he was the only member of the group who had a shred of his real hair left.
"Here ya go. Enjoy!" Lance ceremoniously handed Lisa the passes. And she promptly stuffed them into the pocket of her grimy jeans. 'She really is a trip' Lance thought. Lisa turned and tossed her hair behind her. She opened the door and threw her good-byes over her shoulder. "Bye Lance....It's been real. Maybe I'll see ya tonight. That is, if my self-respect goes down low enough for me to go. Ta-Ta!" She slid out the door as Lance called for her.
"Wait!"
Lisa turned, exasperated.
"what's your name little lady?" Lance asked with a southern twang. He knew it would annoy her even more, but he just had to do it.
"If you must know, it is Lisa. Now I've wasted enough time. I'll see ya around. Maybe." She added quickly turning out the door.
Lance watched her walk away with a look of pure shock on his face. Justin came up from behind him and patted Lance on the back. "You've got it bad man!" He told him. "And you're in for it!"
"I know and I can't wait to be in deeper," Lance replied staring after the retreating figure. "I can't wait."
