11/1/01-Is Britney Still A Virgin? The RUMORis that BRITNEY SPEARS is planning a night of passion in a Las Vegas hotel with boyfriend JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. The claim is made by British tabloid newspaper THE DAILY STAR, which suggests the virginal pop princess is ready to lose her cherry to her 'N SYNC heart-throb. The paper claims the SLAVE FOR YOU stunner has ordered bosses at a Las Vegas hotel to transform one of its rooms into a den of sin for the lovers - complete with waterbed and overhead mirrors. 11/1/01-Britney Scraps BT Dance Tracks. Britney Spears says tracks she recorded with dance producer BT will not feature on her new album. She says the type of music BT made didn't fit in with the style of the album. However, she says that BT is a genius. Britney said: "I was really disappointed we weren't able to use the tracks BT has done. "He's a genius in whatever he does, but the type of music he ended up doing didn't fit me and what I was going for." Britney recorded two tracks with BT, who has also worked with her NSync star boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

10/14/01-Her comments come as Pepsi this week pulled their TV ads of Britney because the company feared the sight of the star showing off her belly button on prime time television could be seen as frivolous in the wake of the terrorist attacks of 11 September. The soft drink company, said to have paid Britney $7m in an exclusive deal to advertise the drink, feared alienating consumers.

10/13/01-Britney Spears, whose new video is her raunchiest yet, has told worldpop she hates to watch her boyfriend Justin Timberlake's sexy promos.
In the video for her new single I'm A Slave 4 U, Britney is pictured being touched and kissed by a group of male admirers while wearing a G-string over a pair of jeans. Meanwhile, the new video for 'N Sync's new single Gone features Justin singing seductively to a beautiful girl. But in our exclusive video interview Britney revealed she is not a fan of Justin's raunchy acting.
'I personally don't like it, seeing him do things like that,' Britney said. 'I prefer not to watch. He doesn't like seeing me do it either but it's part of what we do. Artistically it brings the video to life.'

10/3/01-Britney and Justin are among the guests to be invited to Dido's wedding, say friends of pop's golden couple. Britney, who collaborated with Dido on a new song set to feature in her debut movie Not A Girl is preparing for her world tour which kicks off next month in Miami. It's not known whether Britney and Justin will be able to get to the UK for the wedding. In April, Dido revealed boyfriend lawyer Bob Page proposed to her in March and they hoped to wed this summer if they found time in her busy schedule.

Britney Spears next single after Slave 4 U will be a Max Martin-penned power ballad that is tipped to be her biggest record ever. However, its title is set to cause some problems with overseas audiences. The song is called "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman". 10/3/01-Stolen Timberlake/Spears Tape Called 'Boring.' Britney Spears and her boyfriend, 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake, are known for their sexy, flashy music videos - but their home videos aren't nearly so exciting. Police said there was nothing scandalous on a tape stolen from the couple's Destin vacation home last month. ``The tapes were very boring,'' said Okaloosa County sheriff's spokesman Rick Hord.
Deputies who viewed the video said it contained ordinary vacation scenes and that Spears is not in it for very long, Hord said. It includes footage taped inside a car while driving through Alabama, some shots of the house the couple and their families rented in this Gulf Coast resort city and scenes of people playing on the beach, he said.

Four teen-agers who broke into the house on Sept. 22 took the tape, and a suspect reportedly was copying it when sheriff's deputies arrested him. ``The copy was destroyed and the original was returned,'' Hord said. The tape is not in evidence, so it is not public record.
Mayor Ken Beaird sent Spears flowers and a letter of apology, asking the pop singer to consider vacationing in Destin again. He hasn't gotten a response but said he doesn't expect one. ``I just wanted them to know that that's not Destin, the way they were treated,'' Beaird said.

The good news is police caught the thieves, but among the items stolen -- a home video with 'personal' footage on it. Well, since Britney claims to be a virgin, it's just two hours of her going, 'No, I said no. No.'"

9/27/01-Vacationing Teen Idols Driven 'Crazy' by Burglars, Gawkers. Britney Spears' "vacation thing" on the Emerald Coast may prove to be more of a headache than it's worth.
Since arriving here with boyfriend Justin Timberlake and an entourage of family members, security guards, publicists and personal managers, Spears and company have been robbed, stalked and set upon by the local media. It hasn't even been sunny.
Four teens were arrested Sunday and charged with the Saturday night robbery of a rental home in the exclusive Destiny by the Sea community where Spears and her group have been staying. Matthew James Daily, 17, Salvador Fer-nando Martinez, 19, Richard Dean Olivarez, 19, and Marcus Ryan Cook, 19, face one count each of burglary and grand theft. The foursome was seen making off with more than $5,000 in merchandise from the Ocean Boulevard residence, the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office said.
Items taken included video cameras with "personal" footage of the celebrities, two large bottles of alcoholic beverages and "several clothing items belonging to the celebrities," the Sheriff's Office report said.
The four teens were seen on the beach throughout the evening Saturday, watching the home, Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office spokesman Rick Hord said. They entered it through an unlocked back door around 10 p.m., according to a report on the incident. Three Niceville residents told investigators they saw the accused burglars enter the residence and said "all four co-defendants left the residence in possession of stolen property," the report said. One of the suspected culprits was copying a videotape taken from the home at the time he was taken into custody, Hord said.
Not even the garbage Spears, Timberlake - of the band *N SYNC - and their friends left behind has been safe since their arrival in Northwest Florida. Die-hard fans Arianna Bouchard, 13, and Krystle Klosterman, 15, both of Destin, went through their trash.
Klosterman boasted of scooping up a flowered gift bag filled with celebrity garbage, including cups, a magazine and some type of electrical cord. "And Coke - even though Britney's got a Pepsi contract," Bouchard said.
Bouchard and Klosterman said they heard from friends at school that Spears and Timberlake were in town and had given a few autographs. They decided to go to any length to meet the stars. The girls walked around the neighborhood where they heard the pair was staying, and found the house when they recognized a friend of Spears', who posed for a photo with the girls.
"We saw Justin, Britney, the body guard, through the windows," Klosterman said. She said they also saw Timberlake's mother and Spears' little sister. But when they finally got a chance to ask Timberlake for an autograph, they were turned down.
"He said no," Klosterman recounted. "The mom said, 'This is a vacation thing. This is a family thing,' "
The girls were in tears Monday evening as they stood on a sidewalk outside the celebrity homestead, waiting for a ride back home.
Reporters seeking comment about the robbery from the star couple or any of their cronies were rebuffed as severely as Klosterman or Bouchard. Renee Earnest, a publicist manager for Just-In-Time Entertainment, referred all calls to someone in California.
Unlike their media counterparts, however, Klosterman and Bouchard were not dissuaded by Monday's celebrity encounters. "We're coming back tomorrow," Klosterman said. "Just in case."

9/26/01-Oops! Justin and Britney Burgled! Seems Britney Spears and boyfriend Justin Timberlake just can't get any privacy these days. Police in Destin, Florida, arrested four teenage boys Saturday night on burglary charges and grand theft after they broke into the pop couple's rental home and made off with a few collector's items--including more than $5,000 worth of video camera equipment, liquor bottles and clothes, the Associated Press reports.
Spears and 'N Sync crooner Timberlake were on vacation with friends and family in Destin, Florida's premier panhandle Spring Break zone just east of Pensacola (where Louisiana-types like to go) when they got raided.
According to the police report, the thieves allegedly broke into the rental home through an unlocked back door when no one was around. But neighbors, who spotted the teens fleeing the scene with the goods, alerted police about the break-in. The following morning, the four were arrested and charged (their names were not disclosed because they are minors).
One of the perpetrators was allegedly nabbed at his home while dubbing a copy of a stolen videotape that showed "personal" moments of the sweethearts, according to the police report.
Fans hoping for a Pam and Tommy Lee-style tape from the self-declared virgin and her boyfriend can forget about it: The recovered items were returned to the couple and no other information about the contents of the videotapes was available at press time.
Meanwhile, a rep for the 19-year-old Spears and 20-year-old Timberlake says the theft of liquor bottles doesn't necessarily mean the multiplatinum popsters broke any of the Sunshine state's underage drinking laws. "They were vacationing with their families so [the liquor bottles] could've belonged to anybody," said Lisa Kasteler, Spears' publicist. "I think it's a pretty simple story about breaking and entering."
So much for vacation. Teen pop's reigning twosome had been looking for some much needed R&R after a whirlwind month which had them both performing at not only the MTV Video Music Awards, but also at Michael Jackson's tribute concert and various promotional tours.

9/5/01-Britney Spears' record company has denied reports that the pop star is to marry her 'N Sync boyfriend Justin Timberlake. A spokeswoman for Jive Records said tabloid reports that Spears had accepted a marriage proposal from US boy group member Timberlake were "rubbish". She added that Spears would deny suggestions that she and Timberlake were engaged in an interview for the ITV show Rich and Famous, to be aired next week.
On Friday, papers including the Sun, the Mirror and London's Evening Standard, reported that Spears, 19, had accepted a marriage proposal more than a month ago. The couple were reported to have been in the middle of a recording session for the couple's new duet when Timberlake, 20, popped the question.
If true, the news would be a big upset to the millions of male fans of the singer - whose hits include Oops I Did It Again and Baby, One More Time. It could also be a blow to Spears' young female followers, many of whom look up to Spears - a self-proclaimed virgin - as a role model of female independence.

Justin DOES sing background vocal on the track but it is NOT a duet! 8/13/01-Destiny's Child knows how to say it... If anyone has checked out the new album by DC3 they are familiar with the song "Nasty Girl". Yes, your assumptions are right. The phrase "nasty girl, put some clothes on" was written about the one and only Britney Spears. 8/10/01-First Single Announced! The first single from Britney's forthcoming album is called "I'm A Slave 4 U." It was written and produced by the Neptunes, who have also worked with Jive Records' superstars *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys. The title of the album has not yet been confirmed.

8/9/01-Britney's boy plans team up on film. WorldPop.com reported that Justin has revealed that he'd like to act with Britney. He confessed that although there are no current plans for the pair to hook up on the silver screen he is eager for a joint project to take place but states that his main motivation is not to experience working with his 19 year old girlfriend but so that he can see her more often.

8/9/01-Their are rumors that Britney was determined to shed her innocence by going topless in her movie debut but lost her battle with the director. Director Tamra Davis of "What Are Friends For" banned the scene much to Spears' dismay. A crew member says, "Spears kept begging the director to do a topless scene because she wanted to show off her body." They claim in the end Davis and Spears compromised, "They ended up doing a wet T shirt scene but Britney was visibly upset so they stopped filming." Now movie fans will only get to see the sey singer in her underwear instead.

8/9/01-The Star somehow got photos of Britney Spears' home including her bedroom at the Serenity estate in Kentwood. Included in the home is a painting of Britney in a Victorian era dress, which a friend reveals, "Sometimes she looks up at it and pretends to dance the night away with a beau in her arms. Her family laughs and says she's dreaming about Justin."

8/8/01-Britney And Justin Come Together To Sing Duet. Following in the footsteps of Ozzy Osbourne and Lita Ford, Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks, and Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson, the reigning First Couple of Pop has come together to do a superstar duet. An uptempo song by Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake was recorded last week, according to Rich Travali, who is mixing the track this week in New York. "It's a slick pop thing, very aggressive," Travali said of the tune. "It sounds really hot."
Spears and Timberlake wrote the track with their choreographer, Wade Robson , who also produced it, Travali said. Robson and Timberlake wrote 'NSYNC's current single, "Pop."
Travali, who has mixed albums by Nelly and the St. Lunatics, would not reveal the title of the song, which he said would likely surface on Spears' new LP, due November 6. Spears' label, Jive Records, did not return calls for comment.
Spears has collaborated with electronic music guru BT and R&B hitmaker Rodney Jerkins for the as-yet-untitled album.

8/7/01-Britney and Justin - Worst Dressed. Eonline's Fashion Police claim Britney and Justin as the Worst Dressed couple of the past five years. The image shown is the couple at the American Music Awards which reads:

8/7/01-Radio personality Sonny Melendrez interviewed *NSYNC before their concert in San Antonio where rumors Britney and Justin would appear in a movie together were denied. Sonny said, "There's been talk about Justin (Timberlake) and Britney (Spears) appearing together in a movie, but Justin said that was not true, although he said he would like to be in one with her just to see her more often."

8/6/01-Norm Clarke reports Las Vegas nightclub C2K is flirting with trouble after allowing Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake to party in the nightclub until dawn. Tye Smith insisted no alcohol was served to the two minors but state liquor officials countered, "It's cut and dried with a nightclub. You have to be 21 because it's hard to control. If you want to take your daughter to see Tom Jones, she can have a soft drink and you can have Jack Daniels."

One thing is for sure, you don't wear these types of rocks, sorry I mean, huge diamond rings to a basketball game unless it's for a reason. 7/31/01-Britney Is Back To Work. After following boy-band NSYNC around the country for the past month on the band's latest tour, superstar Britney Spears is back to action. With a little over 3 months until the release of her next studio album, Spears will spend all of August doing last minute touch-ups and promotional videos. Friends of the stars state that Spears will do a 3-day promotional photo shoot (for album cover/posters) this week. Rumors are that photographer Herb Ritts will take some of the photos, who also directed Spears' sexy video for '"Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know". As soon as the photo shoot ends, Britney will begin dance rehearsals for her newest video: the new single from the new album. This time around, Britney will take the reigns and MAY direct her own music video. Not only will she make an appearance at this Aug. 12th's "Teen Choice Awards", but is also scheduled to perform at on Aug. 27th's "Today Show". Spears only has to finish recording one more song, and adding vocals on a remix (I'm assuming the 1st single!) Britney is scheduled to begin her tour the 2nd week of October, which will be followed by the Nov. 6 release of her new album. Jive Records will release all of the news of the new album and etc. on or around Aug. 19.

7/30/01-Britney At Nsync's Challenge for the Children III. Britney was part of the starting line up and she ended up scoring two points. But Tom Arnold and the rest of the hosts were picking on the girls and especially picking on Britney for her bad passes. 7/26/01-Timberlake eyes duet with Britney. Britney Spears and 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake address the media as they arrive at a launch party for the band's new album, "Celebrity." That's the plan of 'N Sync heartthrob Justin Timberlake, who wants to duet with his pop princess girlfriend Britney Spears, according to Rolling Stone magazine.
Timberlake, 20, told the magazine he is helping 19-year-old Spears move away from her hugely popular bubblegum pop in favor of a harder sound. When the timing is right, he envisages them recording together, a collaboration he vowed would be ''huge.'' ''I want it to be somethin' new that they haven't heard us do, that they didn't think we could do. I feel like we still have artistic growth to show, and maybe after that, then I'll think about it. For Nick Lachey, lead singer of boy band 98 degrees and until recently the boyfriend of songstress Jessica Simpson, it turned out to be too difficult. Jessica says she split from naughty Nick, 27, because the pressure of staying a virgin until her wedding day was just too much. The 21-year-old, who dons skimpy clothing on the clip of her new single (with the rather ironic title) Irresistible, did not elaborate on which of the two the pressure was too much for. As if that wasn't confusing enough, Jessica has also said she still loves her ex and might want to marry him some day.

But BT admitted he's not entirely happy with his association with pop acts. "I don't want to become the electronic guy who made a bunch of boy bands cool," he said.

6/25/01-Matching Tattoo's A No-Go for Brit & Justin. Britney Spears has been banned from having a tattoo on her bottom. The pop princess and her 'N Sync singer boyfriend Justin Timberlake wanted matching pictures of red hearts bordered with their names tattooed on their backsides. They even made it as far as a Los Angeles tattoo parlour. But as the work was about to start, an adviser rang her on her mobile and talked her into postponing it till she could give it more thought.

6/24/01-Timberlake Reacts to Rumor. Justin Timberlake says it "sucks" his family had to hear the recent rumor that he and Britney Spears were in a fatal car crash. Pop fans weren't the only folks shocked by a recent radio stunt in which two DJs claimed Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears had died in a car crash. The singers themselves were rather taken aback.
"The first thing I did was call Britney," said 'N Sync singer Timberlake. "She was in L.A. and I was in, I believe, Philadelphia the day it happened so we were across the country from each other," said Timberlake. "The first thing she says to me was like, 'Hey, where are you?' You know, we both kind of heard about it at the same time."
The two Dallas disc jockeys who aired the news of the false collision have since been fired.
For the young pop stars, being the subject of a false rumor is not an entirely new experience. "Since the beginning, people knew about our relationship there's always been things that have been said that were totally not true, but this just, like, took it to a whole 'nother planet," said Timberlake.
And while he says he and Spears routinely deal with the fans and attention their careers attract, he was still upset by how rumors like this one affect their families.
"It just sucks that my family was so worried about it and Britney's family, too, because they're part of my family ... I seriously got, like, six phone calls from different people in my family — immediately."

6/22/01-Britney Hoax Crushed Mom. NYPOST.COM reported that Britney Spears' mother spent an anguished night thinking her daughter was dead after a Dallas radio station broadcast a hoax report that the pop queen was killed in a car smash-up. The KEGL-FM deejays who spun the phony report were fired yesterday and the station sent a letter of apology to Britney and her mom, Lynne. Police and fire officials in Los Angeles were deluged with phone calls from fans and media around the world after deejays known as Kramer and Twitch claimed a source told them Spears, 19, was dead and her boyfriend, *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake, 20, was comatose. The next day, Spears' publicist quashed the rumor and said the pop star's reps were considering legal action against the station. KEGL program director Dwayne Dougherty told The Post, "From what I understand from Britney's management, her mother spent the night believing Britney had been killed."

6/22/01-The Toronto Sun's Jane Stevenson talked to Justin Timberlake about the false report that had him in a coma and Britney Spears dead after a car accident. Justin says "I know the first thing I did was call Britney because I was, like, 'Well maybe it got twisted, maybe something did happen to her.'"

6/21/01-The Chicago Sun Time's Bill Zwecker reports *NSYNC were spotted clubbing all over Chicago over the weekend, where Britney Spears also came to town to spend time with Justin. He ads there was a 'testy scene' between Justin and a couple of bandmates over a woman they were vying for at the nightclub Kustom.

6/18/01-Beyonce Says Justin & JC Are "Bootylicious." On the radio yesterday (Y017) Beyonce Knowles from Destiny's Child was doing an interview. The people at the station were asking her who she thought was "bootylicious" and she named Eminem, Fred Durst and then she goes "Oh my god and Justin and JC from Nsync!" Then she was asked if she's ever hooked up with her bootylicious boys, and she commented that Justin was a cutie and a good kisser!!! So then they go "Beyonce are you saying there's something going on between you and Justin?" and she goes "Oh my god no! it's not like that. don't get the wrong idea ya'll. It was just once at a party. He's doing his own thing now with Britney....but i was happy cause he's adorable and I am a big fan of his talent. He is a good kisser though. Justin, you go boy!"

6/18/01-'N Sync hops all over town. Those "N Sync boys sure cut a wide swath through Our Town over the weekend. The boy band heroes were spied everywhere from Kustom to the White Star to the Buddha Lounge. They even checked out the view from the Signature Lounge atop the John Hancock Center. Though Justin Timberlake's main squeeze Britney Spears sneaked into town to be with her honey, I wonder what she would have thought about the testy scene between Justin and a couple of his bandmates--over a young lovely they were vying for at Kustom.

6/16/01-Jive Records is considering suing Kramer and Twitch following the shock jock's rumor that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake had been involved in a fatal car crash.

6/16/01-Britney death prank passes with no penalty. As radio hoaxes go, this one doesn't seem all that creative: Take to the airwaves and pronounce pop stars Britney Spears and boyfriend Justin Timberlake dead in a Los Angeles car accident. Were the Dallas duo of Kramer & Twitch conducting some sociological experiment that went over most people's heads? Or did they simply figure out a way to make the phones light up and get the media to write about them?
Kramer & Twitch, who are on weeknights at KEGL-FM (97.1), the Clear Channel Communications-owned Dallas rock station nicknamed "the Eagle,'' weren't elaborating this week. Neither was KEGL program director Duane Doherty, who didn't return numerous calls, nor was the staff at Clear Channel's corporate headquarters in San Antonio, which referred all calls back to KEGL. Instead, KEGL aired a brief apology Wednesday but apparently didn't suspend Kramer & Twitch, who were back on the air Wednesday night.
"Last night, this radio station erroneously reported an incident involving Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake,'' went the recorded message. "The Eagle apologizes for any confusion this erroneous report may have caused.'' Reached by phone by the Dallas Morning News, Kramer said he had been instructed by Clear Channel not to discuss the incident, the paper reported. Damage control was also taking place on other fronts.
Wolf Kasteler, the PR firm for Spears and Timberlake, put out a statement Wednesday saying, "Timberlake is on tour with 'N Sync and Spears is currently in the studio recording her next album. Representatives for both Spears and Timberlake are looking into the situation to determine the original source of the rumor and if legal action is appropriate.''
Kramer & Twitch said on the air Tuesday night that an "inside source'' was giving them information about the accident, including that Timberlake was in a coma and that a spokesperson at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles confirmed the accident, according to the Dallas paper. The DJs also said they were reading from wire reports.

NO POLICE ACTION
Los Angeles police and fire officials said that although a flood of calls inquiring about the fates of Timberlake and Spears were an irritation, authorities were not contemplating action against the DJs. Most calls came in on normal business lines and did not tie up 911 emergency lines, they said. "It was an annoyance and unfortunate, but no crime was committed,'' said Sgt. John Pasquariello of the Los Angeles Police Department. "There's already been national condemnation'' of the DJs, he said. Police in Dallas also said they do not plan legal action.
Kramer & Twitch previously broadcast from San Jose, Calif., station KSJO-FM, but operations manager Greg Stevens said they hadn't been on the air there since a failed stint between January and April. In February, the two, who make a play for young male listeners in the crude way of many DJs, were suspended for joking that motorists should run over motorcyclists and bicyclists or bump them with their open car doors. But Stevens said their departure was unrelated to any pranks. "We didn't feel it fit the local vibe,'' he said.
John Winston, an assistant bureau chief in enforcement at the Federal Communications Commission, said Wednesday that no formal complaint had been filed against KEGL over the phony death report. While the FCC must receive a complaint before taking action, the government agency does have a policy concerning such hoaxes. License- or permit-holders are prohibited from broadcasting knowingly false information concerning a crime or catastrophe.

PUBLIC HARM
Such information must also be seen to cause substantial public harm, including the "diversion of law enforcement or other public health and safety authorities from their duties.''
To those schooled in radio, meanwhile, the hoax had the ring of desperate personalities doing anything for attention. Phil Hendrie, arguably the best at turning fakery into radio theater, with his callers as participants, noted the significant difference between a hoax and what he prefers to call a put-on.
"The way to do an effective put-on is to start from the premise that you want to be funny and work at being funny,'' said Hendrie, who is syndicated by the Premiere Radio Networks. By contrast, Hendrie said, there are always those in radio "simply taking a stick and banging on a garbage can lid until someone notices.''
Sky Daniels, general manager of Radio & Records magazine, agreed. "Typically, they figure out, 'How far can we push it, where do we think we're going to get into trouble and . . . is it worth it?'" Daniels said of such stunts.

6/16/01-Eminem & D12 Take Aim At Britney. Launch reported that Eminem takes lyrical jabs at a half dozen celebrities on "Ain't Nuttin' But Music," a song on D12's Devil's Night, scheduled to be released June 19. In one verse, Eminem disses Britney Spears, Everlast, Limp Bizkit's DJ Lethal, and Whitney Houston, while entangling NSYNC's Justin Timberlake and actor Ben Affleck in the mix. In the first verse of the Dr. Dre-produced song, Eminem raps, "This just in/Britney just dissed Justin/She just f--ked Ben/Got t-t f--ked and d--k-sucked him/If Affleck can get his ass licked/How come I can't, sh-t/God damn b--ch/I'm rich/I can't understand this/Are those pictures they made of us together on the internet/The closest I'm ever going to get to hitting it from the back and sh-t/ 'Cause when it comes to that/I hit harder from the back than Everlast when he's plucking Lethal in his f--king ass/Just give me one more chance/Britney hit me one more time/Let me know what's on your mind/Whitney get me one more line to sniff..." On "Blow My Buzz," D12 member Bizzare takes a shot at civil rights leader Reverend Jesse Jackson, who earlier this year admitted to fathering an illegitimate child via an extramarital affair. In Bizzare's verse, he raps about putting "a date rape drug" in a girl's drink, getting ready to have sex with her, and wraps with, "B--ches I'm catching/Blunts I'm matching/Don't call me Bizarre/I'm the Reverend Jesse Jackson." The album also includes the Limp Bizkit dis "Girls."

6/14/01-Britney is Familar to Americans. A new study from The Slay Media Access Study reveals that Americans given a list of names of people who have been in the news recently, Americans indicated that they were most familiar with Tiger Woods. The golf superstar scored 92 percent on the familiarity scale, followed by actress Julia Roberts (90 percent), actor Jim Carrey (87 percent) and pop music star Britney Spears (84 percent). Americans were more familiar with those four than they were with Vice President Dick Cheney (78 percent) or Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan (67 percent). Only 10 percent of Americans said they were familiar with Chinese President Jiang Zemin. It's fascinating that even after millions of words have been written about the high-stakes collision between a U.S. surveillance plane and a Chinese military aircraft that the leader of the largest country in the world is still so unfamiliar to Americans," said Slay. "Britney Spears is eight times more familiar to us than is the leader of a country that will play a dominant role in our future.

6/13/01-False Radio Report Worries Fans of Spears and Timberlake Los Angeles Times reported that fans of pop music stars Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake flooded fire and police phone lines Tuesday night after two disc jockeys reported a false rumor that the pair had died in a Los Angeles traffic accident. The rumor was spread by San Jose deejays Kramer & Twitch on their radio program being broadcast by Dallas rock station KEGL-FM sometime after 7 p.m. Pacific time. Coroner's officials said there was no truth to the claim of the pair's death. Representatives of Spears, 19, and Timberlake, 20, a singer with the band 'N Sync, could not be reached. The Dallas radio station's request and business lines were busy or went unanswered. But as the rumor spread, the Los Angeles Fire and Police departments were inundated with calls from the news media and worried fans. Officer Jason Lee of the LAPD said he got 50 to 75 calls in a matter of hours. Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Fire Department, received more than 100 calls. The California Highway Patrol and local hospitals also received calls. They came in from across the country and around the world. Lee said he fielded calls from Australian and New Zealand news media."It really spoiled my night," Humphreys said. After a while, Humphrey put a taped message on his voice mail announcing that the Fire Department had "no knowledge of a well-known singer and her boyfriend" being involved in an accident. On a Web site called the Addicted to Britney Spears Support Group, distraught fans tried to reassure themselves. "I heard here on a Dallas, Texas, radio station that Britney Spears died in a car accident. Anyone else hear anything?" asked one fan.

6/2/01-Britney and Justin...What Are They Doing!? The New York Daily News reports that Britney and Justin walked out on a $600 tab at Float, a New York City hotspot, this past weekend. According to the paper, the pair, who were "all over each other," ate and drank their fill then simply got up and left -- leaving *NSync-er Joey Fatone to pick up the tab. Also, the couple (accompanied by two humongo bodyguards) whined about not being giving preferential seating at a recent showing of "Moulin Rouge" at NYC's Ziegfeld theater.

6/2/01-Britney Drinks Alcohol. Philly.comreported that Britney has said no to sex and drugs - but alcohol? That's another story for the underage Britney Spears, according to a report in US Weekly. "I like the sweet drinks," Spears, 19, admits, "but I don't always like the way I feel the next day." Her drinks of choice? Cosmopolitans and Midori sours. Lynne Spears allows her daughter to take vacations with boyfriend Justin Timberlake of 'N Sync, but a bodyguard must accompany them. "I approve of Justin and his whole family," Lynne says. "I've known him all his life, at least the important years. I love him." As for sex, says Britney: "That's something that, you know, I'd like to keep personal.... She tells US Weekly, in its June 4 issue, that she and Justin were initially reluctant to make their first outing as a couple at the MTV Video Music Awards, where their relationship moved to another level. "We weren't going to go together, but beforehand Justin was like, 'Isn't this kind of weird? You're here with me, and we're not going with each other.' I was like, 'You know what? Who cares? Let's just start.' And since then ... we can't be away from each other."
For Britney's 19th birthday, Timberlake took her to Palm Springs, Calif., for three days. As a present, he also gave her an entire bedroom set. Several weeks later they sneaked off to Vail, Colo. 4/16/01-Timberlake Gets Literary. He's been the subject of a handful of teen-targeted biographies, and now 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake will join girlfriend Britney Spears as a novelist. Timberlake has signed a deal with Ballantine Books to publish his first piece of fiction, Crossover Dribble, in what is reported to be a seven-figure deal. Publishers are keeping the details of the book's storyline under wraps, but it apparently centers on a professional basketball phenom (cheekily named Jason Windriver) trying to help his team win a championship. A publishing date has not yet been set for the book, nor is there any word as to whether Timberlake will be writing it by himself. Spears' novel, A Mother's Gift, was co-written by her mother, Lynne, and was published this month.

4/4/01-Britney Spears Talks to GLAMOUR About 'N Sync's Justin. May issue on newsstands April 10th. Britney Spears is lounging on the couch of her swanky room at Los Angeles' Four Seasons Hotel, drinking Starbucks coffee and taking a breather from rehearsals for her first (as yet untitled) movie. In this coming of age drama, Spears plays a demanding role as a straight-A student who embarks on a road trip with two childhood friends. "You're going to think I am crazy," she explains, describing her fake crying technique, "but we all have inner demons, things that make us upset, and I just picture them and put 'em in my throat. I use a different demon every time, like if I'm stressed out about something...or if I miss my mom." She misses her mom, as it turns out, a lot. In fact, Spears' latest project, the novel A Mother's Gift, co-written by Spears and her 45-year-old mother Lynne, was inspired by their close bond. "There are so many negative things out there for this generation that I just wanted to have something inspirational," Spears' explains.
This month, in addition to releasing the book, Spears will film her new movie, appear in a Pepsi commercial, continue recording her third album in Stockholm, Sweden, move into a new Los Angeles pad, and in her spare time, hang out with her boyfriend, 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake, 20. "We try to soak up as much time as we can, but it still doesn't seem like enough," Spears admits. "We go out to dinner and try to have a normal relationship." Still, says Spears, a Sagittarius, "He's an Aquarius, so he's all about being independent, basically the same as me. We have to have our freedom. That's what's really cool with J, because he's such an individual, when we come together, it's great."
Spears hasn't been boldly blasphemous, but she, like Madonna, has always called the shots. That includes her decision to be up-front and unapologetic about her sexuality, a stance that has caused some cultural observers to deride her as a nymphet. This perplexes Spear, and pisses her off. "Guys grab their crotches and nobody says anything, but if a girl does a shimmy and shows her belly, it's a huge deal!" she declares. 3/17/01-Pop King Dissed Timberlake's Girlfriend. Michael Jackson, who last week broke down in tears while addressing the Oxford University Student Union, is not quite the softie he seems. In fact, he recently almost reduced Britney Spears to tears. The incident occurred last month when Jackson invited the pubescent chanteuse's boyfriend, *NSYNC singer Justin Timberlake, to discuss a music project at his Californian home, Neverland. Thrilled by the invite, Timberlake asked Britney to accompany him, as she is also a big fan of the strange singer. That was a mistake. Michael, who was very businesslike about the visit, was astonished when he saw Britney enter the house with Timberlake. He is reported to have said, 'Why'd he have to bring her?', an insult that apparently caused some dampness in the singer's eyes. What a beast!

3/17/01-Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath was given a serious diss by Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake Tuesday night at Guy's in Los Angeles, according to the New York Post. When McGrath attempted to say hello to the two, a bodyguard stopped McGrath and the two exchanged words. Spies at the club say Britney witnessed the incident but did nothing.

3/16/01-Britney Loves Fred Durst. Teen sensation Britney Spears is hoping to make a rap-metal record by collaborating with rockers Limp Bizkit. The singer is willing to try a different sound by working with hard-rocking Fred Durst and gang. The virginal blonde says, "I'd love to do something like that in the future, it sounds like a great idea." However the pop princess's busy schedule means the project will have to wait for a while. She adds, "It would have to be a few years from now." Let's just hope that there won't be any nookie involved, Justin wouldn't like that!

3/8/01-Push-up Brawl. Ah, teen divas. Can't you hear them sharpening their claws for another day of scratching for radio play, video airtime, skimpy swathing, more gasp-worthy décolleté and such? Now the battle (of the bulge?) between Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera seems to have come down to moxie 'n' mettle--and medical instruments. 3/8/01-Wynonna Gets A Visit From Britney & Justin. Wynonna Judd was in a Los Angeles recording studio last Friday (March 2) with her baby sister, Ashley Judd, listening to a few songs from Wynonna's upcoming project; when teen pop sensations Britney Spears and 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake stopped in to say hello. Wynonna said that Spears was amazing, kind, and respectful on their first-ever meeting, and wanted to know everything the country singer was doing. Spears even told Wynonna that she performed the Judds' "Love Can Build A Bridge" several years ago on TV's Star Search. Wynonna returned the compliment to the pop superstar by telling her that she and her children are big fans, and that she recently got up in front of a small crowd and sang Spears's "Baby One More Time" to a karaoke tape. Just a week earlier, in the same Los Angeles studio, Madonna and Mariah Carey were recording and checking out the schedule to see who was coming in to cut songs. Both stars noted to Wynonna's producer, Shep Crawford, that they loved Wynonna and her music.

3/8/01-Jackson Eager to Work With Justin. Michael Jackson is dying to do something with *NSYNC heartthrob Justin Timberlake. Jackson invited Timberlake up to Neverland to talk music. Justin brought his lady, Britney Spears, along for the thrill of it all. Michael, who was all business, reportedly said to an aide, "why'd he have to bring her?" (There was some excited talk about Michael having a hand in a solo CD effort from Justin."

He knows that if he was behaving badly at the Grammys, a lot of people would see it and the word would get back to Brit Implants. So Justin was acting like a good boy. 3/5/01-Britney's Justin Caught Red-Handed! Just when you thought Britney and Justin had it made as a virginal couple. Seems Britney's boyfriend Justin Timberlake is in her bad books after clubbing with other girls while she was working. Oops! But their mums insist there will be no hanky panky for the Christian couple outside of marriage - sparking rumours the two could soon wed. The pop princess and her NSync boyfriend had a bust-up last week over her friendship with Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin. But they have patched things up enough to set up home together in the £2 million Los Angeles pad. Buying the house with its centrepiece master bedroom and romantic four-poster bed is the clearest signal yet that they could soon be walking down the aisle. A woman involved in the sale of the palatial Mediterranean-style villa confessed: "Britney's mom said it was only a matter of time before they married. "Despite her sexy image, Britney's parents are quite old fashioned in their ways. Her father was a lay preacher at their local church." Britney and Justin viewed the house last week, arriving in a small convoy of cars with their personal assistants and bodyguards. But before deciding to take the pad, both singers brought their mums to give it the seal of approval a couple of days later. A source confessed: "It seemed weird seeing these two mega rich pop stars having to ask mum's permission. "But they said their mums are their business managers. The insider added: "One of the mums said Britney and Justin would have to get married now they are to live together." 2/20/01-The rumor of Justin and Britney's fight goes further by saying that on the way in from the airport to where the superbowl was they rode on the private plane together. And when they got there their luggage they separted and weren't together. While in the airport, only one kid went up to Justin for an autograph, but was hit away by his bodyguard.

Britney Spears was the top choice for male voters, who ranked the 19-year-old singer above actresses Jennifer Lopez in second position and third-placed Sarah Michelle Gellar.

2/12/01-Entertainment Weekly reports Britney Spears arm sock is causing a fashion commotion. The look emerged from Japan and France and has since been seen in urban dance clubs and bars. Urban Outfitters will soon begin selling the sock-band.

2/10/01-The New York Daily News reports portions of the script in Britney Spears upcoming movie are in Jane magazine's March issue. Britney's character is named Lucy and one scene reads, "The bathroom door opens. Lucy stands in the door, sexy in a short robe. She's nervous but manages to strut across the room towards Henry in beat to the music. She stands in front of him, takes a deep breath and drops her robe. (She) reaches up to unhook her bra. Then she stops."

2/10/01-Megastar reports following earlier reports that Britney's new movie under development included a topless scene, the singer, according to a source, "went ballistic. She loved the script, but she was very unhappy with the scene." The scene now will only have Spears strip to her underwear, but no more.

2/9/01-Mansion rumors cleared up. Britney cleared it up! The 3 million dollar mansion was not bought for her and Justin. She bought it as a surprise for her parents due to the fact that their house was leaking badly. See? Justin's not that stupid! But I don't understand that because Britney had just built her family a new house and it was finished within the last month.

2/8/01-News of the World's Rav Singh reports he hears Britney and Justin plan on celebrating her new Pepsi contract by going out on the town in New York.

2/8/01-Michael Jackson recently invited Justin Timberlake to Neverland, but when Timberland turned up with Britney in the limo with him, Jackson was furious and refused to open the gate for half an hour. When they finally got into the party, Jacko ignored Britney and went off with Justin.

Parents of teenage girls better stock up on tissues because the tears are going to start falling like rain. The beloved boy band *NSYNC may soon be calling it quits, says sources. And STAR has learned exclusively that it's partly pop princess Britney Spears' fault!
Sources say Spears has influenced her boyfriend Justin Timberlake to leave the group for a solo career. "She's brainwashed him into thinking that he can be a superstar just like her," says in insider. Britney's romance with Justin has also created hard feelings within the band. Says a pal, "They feel Justin's been getting a lot more of the spotlight than they have, especially because of his romance with Britney, and they don't like it one bit. It's created a lot of strain among them and in the last few months, the band has been ripped apart by jealousy and vicious fighting."
Justin, 20, denies that his galpal Britney, 19, has anything to do with his decision to branch out on his own. He claims he told manager Johnny Wright he needs time to work on an album with '80's singing heartthrob Richard Marx. He's also got his eye on an acting career. Just last year, *NSYNC was involved in talks about doing a sequel to Grease, with Justin in the John Travolta role and Britney tackling Sandy, played by Olivia Newton-John in the 1978 movie. Last March, Justin appeared as a teen supermodel in the made-for-TV movie Model Behavior. He's not the only *NSYNC-er who's ready to fly the coop, either. Joey's been in several movies and appeared on the cancelled series SeaQuest. Up next, he and Lance will play buddies in the romantic comedy "On The Line". Lance has some acting experience under his belt, with a guest spot on the WB series "7th Heaven", where he met his girlfriend, actress Beverly Mitchell, 20. He also has his own management company, which handles country stars like Meredith Edwards, he's started a film production company. JC has said he's "happiest in the studio," and is planning solo projects, which Chris has a sideline with a line clothing he created."
In 1997, when Justin; Joey Fatone, 24; Lance Bass, 21; Chris Kirkpatrick, 29; and JC Chasez, 24, started out in Orlando, Fla., they were five guys united by a dream. Their first album, *NSYNC, was a smash. And their second album, No Strings Attached, sold an astonishing 2.4 million copies in its' first day. But all that success has gone to their heads, say sources. They plan to say Bye Bye Bye to fans after their next album comes out this summer.
Tension ran high at the People's Choice Awards and, according to sources, the boys almost came to blows. "They probably would have if their bodyguards hadn't been around," said an insider. The rest of the band seemed to be mad at Justin and were picking on him." Justin's not just in trouble with his bandmates. In December, schoolgirl Danielle McGuire, 15, threatened to bring a lawsuit against the hunk, claiming he intimidated her in a St. Louis hotel after he refused her an autograph. "Everyone knows Justin has a temper, says the insider, "but he denies the event ever took place." And while manager Wright does his best to smooth things over, sources close to the band say it might be impossible to keep the group together until the new album debuts. "It's going to be a serious crime if they break up, but things don't look good for them staying together."

2/1/01-Was Britney conspiring to cheat on Justin? USA Today's Jeannie Williams reports Spears seemed to be taken with the love interest in her latest music video partner, model Brice Durance, 23, of Paris. The two took part in heavy kissing during filming and Britney later questioned the producer of the Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know video, David Hofflich, about his dating status. Spears was upset to learn Durance was engaged. The video debuts on Valentine's Day.

1/31/01-Rumors that *NSYNC and Britney Spears will be touring together this summer are flying and the reaction online hasn't been postive. In fact, a petition is already making the rounds at petitiononline.com. Some early reaction includes, "We are fans of *NSYNC, not *NSYNCY." Another detractor states, "I refuse to pay to see 50% of the concert performed by ANY lipsyncher." So far, obviously, most of the reaction is coming from *NSYNC fans.

1/30/01-A photographer from a Florida newspaper emailed into the Rush & Molloy show on eyada.com today to tell Joanna that as he walked by Justin and Britney Sunday at the Super Bowl, he could smell 'mary-jane' and that their eyes matched the part.

1/26/01-Britney and Justin Buy $3 Million Mansion. Virginal pop star Britney Spears and supposedly equally chaste boyfriend *NYSNC's Justin Timberlake have purchased a home together sending bold signals that they are set to marry. The pair have bought a $3 million mansion with a massive four-poster bed in Beverly Hills, California, which prompted their mothers to remind them there's to be no sex for the pair before they walk down the aisle. "Despite her sexy image, Britney's parents are quite old- fashioned in their ways. Her father was a lay preacher at their local church." 1/25/01-The Salt Lake Tribune reports Britney Spears and *NSYNC played an acoustic set at a private party in Deer Valley Saturday night. Later, Justin and Britney were spotted strolling Main Street.

1/24/01-Britney Joins Superbowl. Pop-sensation Britney Spears has been added to the list of performers at the halftime show of Super Bowl XXXV, which takes place Sunday. Though the event's "surprise guest" remains anonymous, Spears adds even more star power to the platinum-lined event, as she joins a list of half-time entertainers that already includes fellow pop stars 'N Sync and seasoned rockers Aerosmith. Appearing at the pre-game ceremonies will be the Backstreet Boys, who will sing the national anthem, followed by R&B legend Ray Charles, who will perform "America the Beautiful." The Super Bowl will air on CBS this Sunday at 6 p.m.

1/22/01-News of the World reports that Britney and Justin spent three nights in the honeymoon suite of the Intercontinental Rio hotel they were staying at. Rav reports the two spent nearly all of their time in Rio in the $800/night room ordering fried chicken, chips and cans of cola. A Britney spokesman told the tabloid, "It was ideal for both Britney and Justin because they find it much easier to relax when in each other’s company."

They are reportedly staying at Beaver Creek Resort.Justin supposedly took Britney there to relax for Christmas. They got snowed in there and that is why they couldn't make it to Lance's New Year's Eve Party.

1/18/01-Entertaindom.com reported a quote from a fan who witnessed Britney and Justin in LA walking under the Virgin umbrella who quipped, "I don't know if Britney and Justin realized what they were doing. 1/15/01-Britney to move in with Justin? Mum says they have to get wed. Britney Spears has bought a $3 million mansion, fuelling rumors she will soon move in with boyfriend Justin Timberlake. But their parents have insisted they cannot live together before getting married which has sparked speculation the couple are planning a summer wedding. Spears, pop's most famous virgin, and her NSync boyfriend had an argument last week over her friendship with Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin. But they have now patched up their relationship and are keen to move into their new Los Angeles mansion, according to friends of the couple. One said: 'Britney's mum is convinced that it is only a matter of time before they get married. But she is equally adamant that there is no way they are moving in together before their wedding day.' 1/13/01-BRITNEY SPEARS and boyfriend Justin Timberlake have had a huge bust-up ­ because of the pop princess's soft spot for one-time child star Macaulay Culkin. Home Alone star Macaulay was a surprise guest at the after-show party following Britney's London concerts in November. His appearance thrilled the 19-year-old singer. Their Orlando-based manager, Johnny Wright, got his start in the music business as a roller rink DJ, so what better place to celebrate Wright Entertainment Group's Y2K success on Monday than a Kissimmee skating center? Spears arrived holding hands with her honey, Justin Timberlake, who turned out to be nearly as hot on wheels as Wright.

12/16/00-Well, now it seems the once single quintet is now singing a more romantic note. All five of the Kings of the pop world aired the truth of their relationships this week in a small press conference in Orlando FL. The youngest member of the record breaking quintet is no amateur when it comes to the trials and tribulations of the rumor dating mill. Justin Timberlake only commented briefly of his relationship with once fellow mouseketeer Britney Spears. "We are dating, it feels so good to be real about it. Our fans have really accepted us and that's awesome. Everyone was so worried about it but we just went through with it and it's been great. Going to events together and being able to actually go out on dates is new and refreshing. Our fans are so awesome." Ms. Spears was also present at the conference but did not comment on the status of their relationship. She has been spotted by his side since her own world tour ended. She was brought onstage during the last show in San Diego, California on December 2, where Timberlake and thousands of Nsync fans joined in to sing Happy Birthday to Pop's Princess. Now a card and flowers from the average guy truly does seem redundant doesn't it?

12/16/00-Christmas Present Woes for Justin & Britney. I wanted to tell you that I was watching access hollywood tonight and they showed scences from last nights Jingle Ball. They should Brittney and everything and asked her what she was getting Justin for Christmas, and she was like "I dont know he has everything!" They also asked Justin the same question and he wouldnt tell. They also showed Justin on stage talking to everyone.

12/15/00-Justin Appears At Jingle Ball 2000. Last night Justin Timberlake made a special, unannounced visit in New York's Z100s Jingle ball 2000. He was there to be with his girlfriend, Britney Spears, who was a special guest MC for the event. Justin came out onstage to say hello to everyone, and let us know that *Nsync is starting to work on their third album. After the show, Justin and Britney went Christmas shopping at FAO shwartz in the city. The store was closed down, so they had it all to themselves, while they shopped.

During the rest of the Sun-Times interview, Britney said that she was not dating anyone, ("I don't have any time." but she also said that her ideal boyfriend would be "someone that is in the business, who understands exactly what you are going through." Whn stars tell you they dont have time for romance. thats usually their way of saying, "It's None of your business." *Everyone* has time for love! Good proof was that when Britney had described him as a good kisser, Justin laughed and said--on the record--that she was, too. Britney added to the confusion by missing an in-person scheduled at Filene's in September of 1999. Fans were told Britney was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict. but rumors flew that she had actually arrived on Boston, on her tour bus, from Vermont, then had impulsively left with *NSYNC to Jackson, Mississippi. The story went that she'd then continue on with them to Memphis, Tennessee, following them on their concert tour. In reality--rumor had it-- Britney desperately tried to fly back to Boston, but was unable to secure a flight, even on a provate jet. The whole incident was denied, despite reports that they'd shared a room at a hotel. This event helped to crysallize in fans' minds that Britney and Justin were just Britney & Justin. It wasn't just a rumor that Britney had been in those other places, it was a fact--she was seen and photographed. Also all over the next year, she would be seen frequently at many *NSYNC concerts. They do share a manager, but no artist--least of all one as famous and as busy as Brit, would spare that amount of time just to support a good buddy. Just a month after the Boston incident, Britney denied in TV Guide that she had a boyfriend at all. ("I haven't run into anybody I really want to go out with" But being as playful as she has alwayz been on the subject, Britney did say of Justin, "I would give anything to go out with him, It's so funny. they're alwayz saying that, I wish." Despite this denial, TV Guide made sure to point out that the 2 had been spotted together numerous times, including at the Country Music Awards Association. Britney handled it by telling Us Magazine in its August 1999 issue that the rumors about her and Justin are "Not True." This is around the time that things got a little pushier on the part of the media. When Birtney turned 18, she threw a big bash at a club called Halo in New York. She had been spotted with Boyz N Girlz United's Robbie Carrico at the Drive Me Crazy premiere, and she arrived with him for her party, sparking gossip that she had moved from Justin to Justin-look-alike (and tight singer!) Robbie! But once inside the party, Britney and Justin were said to have kissed and an adorable pic of them slow-dancing together was published in the tabloid The Star. We at Popstar! don't like to publish "caught ya!" pictures so we won't publish that one. But once fans saw the deeply romantic picture, there was just no ignoring that *something* was going on. It wasn't long before the German teen mag, Bravo put a pic of the couple on their cover, (not a posed shot, but 2 seperate pics stuck together) as part of an inside story that showed surveillance photos of Britney and Justin driving together and holding hands. For his part, Justin usually said that he and Britney didn't date, but as 2000 wore on, he did an about-face, saying that he and Britney dated sometimes but that it was nothing exclusive. Britney also owned up to occasionally kissing Justin in the present, not just back during their Mouse Years. And let's not even *talk* about that mysterious dedication on Britney's Oops!....I Did It Again CD. Now we were getting somewhere. This past summer, when British tabloids revealed that Britney and Justin were engaged, the world believed...perhaps to quickly. Without stopping to think, "Would Britney and Justin *really* tell the British tabloids before anyone else?" every major news outlet reported the engagement as 100% fact. The story was immediately and firmly reputed by both parties, both of whom told the media that they had laughed out loud over the idea. This is a good example of when to seperate fantasy from reality. Yes, they are dating--that much we fugured. But it just didn't add up that they'd be rushing to the altar so soon. Though every teenage girl in America held her breath when Justin and Britney came thisclose to kissing onstage at the Fox Teen Choice Awards, clearly the turning point in the "aren they or aren't they?" debate came thanks to MTV, the network that helped make Britney and Justin into the superstars that they are. By showing up for the MTV Video Music Awards together and by not hiding their affections, the duo was showing that actions speak louder than words. The final confirmation came when Britney was asked to pose for Elle magazine. Britney looked totally grwon up in the portraits, and she confidently told the interviewer that her and Justin *are* in love. "When you're really comfortable with someone you love," said Brit, "the silence is the best And that's how me and J are. When we're in a room together, we don't have to say anything. And when we go out to a club, it's like we're the only 2 people there, it's for real." Britney also confessed to Elle that she enjoyed playing with public perception, saying she had joked with Justin that she should wear a huge ring, just to keep people talking." Internet rumors swirled that Justin had denied Britney's comment's in Elle, but those quotes didn't ring true. Why? Because they were not published in association with any known interviewer or publication, they were just reported on fan mailing lists. Without backup. don't believe. So it seems they are--finally!-- a (semi-) official couple. Now...why do you care? You care because when you idolize someone, it's not only for their artistry, it's also for their personality. Part of their personality is who they fall in love with, (And why shouldn't you care who Justin falls for, since you've fallen for Justin?) You can't be faulted for being interested in the love between Britney and Justin, anymore than you can be faulted for being interested in their music, their interviews, their health, their happiness. What's important to take from the story of Britney and Justin is that it's impossible to make up your mind about rumors without having *all* the facts and without using your brain to figure out what's real and what's fake. And in the end, if your a real fan---- not a fake----you will support your idols and want them to be happy and to be in love.

12/12/00-The Star reports while Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake snuck out a side entrace at LA's Las Palmas, the real reason was not teeny boppers lined outside the joint, but cops checking out the disturbance that may have questioned why the two underaged stars were in a bar in the first place. Luckily Justin spotted the cops while walking out the front and made alternate exit plans.

12/9/00-Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears have made People Magazine's Intriguing Couples 2000 list:

Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake. After they were first spotted clubbing in New York in the summer of 2000, the affection between Britney Spears and 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake became more public on Sept. 7 at the MTV Video Music awards at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall and later at the nightclub Twirl, reported PEOPLE. "They sat next to each other or danced the whole night," touching each other's faces and doing "the little things people do that show they're a couple." Since then they've been spotted together in Miami and Los Angeles, despite the fact he lives in Orlando, Fla., and she calls Louisiana home. It seems to be a lot more than just friendship, though the two go back to 1993 together, before they were even teens. Both costarred on the Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse Club.

12/7/00-Interesting commentary on Justin and Britney from GroupieCentral.com's report from the My VH1 Music Awards, where they say, "Let's just end all speculation right here. They are a REAL couple and it's not for publicity. Forget all the virginity bullsh**. There's no way they aren't f***ing each others brains out. We've seen how they are off camera and they are exactly what they are: horny teenagers in lust. That doesn't mean that Britney is Justin's only girlfriend but she's his main girlfriend."

12/6/00-*NSYNC won the Billboard Music Award for Albums duo/group of the year and Album of the year at last night's show in Las Vegas. *NSYNC also co-hosted the awards show with Kathy Griffin. Justin made a stage appearance with girlfriend Britney Spears. Kathy and Britney were pretending to fight over Justin.

12/6/00-More details on Britney's stage appearance in San Diego to celebrate her 19th birthday, as apparently she appeared in disguise, wearing a wig and glasses during *NSYNC's performance of Just Got Paid. When the crowd asked to help sing happy birthday to her, female fans started booing and hissing drowning out those actually singing Happy Birthday, according to reports from Entertaindom.com, MTVasia, and The Sun, leaving Britney visibly upset.

12/4/00-The Star reports the reason Britney admitted to dating Justin was because Tonya Mitchell was moving in on her territory and trying to seduce Justin. They report Britney has already had words with Tonya and told her that Justin is taken. Tonya is an up-coming singer, I believe her record contract is with Motown. She is managed by Justin's mom, Lynn Harless. I have no idea when her album or singles come out. All I know is she has recorded a few things.

12/3/00-Chris Kirkpatrick, Justin Timberlake and Joey Fatone are shown arriving to the My VH1 Music Awards November 30 in Los Angeles. Also while arriving, Britney Spears holding hands with Justin.

12/3/00-Special Times At Final San Diego Concert. For IDMC, they were wearing ponchos and sombreros! Joey played the drums during Justin's beat boxing. For TIPY, they sang part of it in spanish! But the big news is that Brit was there! For Just Got Paid, she was one of the bouncers and Justin was freaking with her! But she was wearing a wig and glasses but you could see it was her! JC's girlfriend Bobbee was also a bouncer. Apparantly, it was Britney's b-day, so before TIPY, Justin brought her out and they were holding hands! Everybody sang "HAppy B-day" to her! Then, Justin said,"Happy B-Day, sweetie" and they gave each other a little kiss! There were many boos, but mostly cheers. Chris pretended to flirt with her, and Justin got mad. Chris was making remarks about how great she looked and was jokingly hitting on her, and justin said "chris, dont make me have to whop your butt!!! She hugged all of them and Joey snapped her in the butt with a towel. Chris kept saying "Britney looks good tonight" and "I like that outfit" and Justin was like "watch it or I'll come over there and bust your butt!" After the show people were saying that they love *nsync but they didnt pay that much money to see Brit and Justin kiss!!! They came to see them shake their booties!!

11/29/00-I'm getting several reports of Britney Spears being on hand for *NSYNC's concerts in Los Angeles. Britney was visible in the VIP section during This I Promise You. When they came over to the VIP section Justin totally started showing off for her! It was so adorable. He started doing the running man and the cabbage patch and all those old dances trying to make her laugh and she did and they were both doubling over. Then he smiled and started singing to her for real. It was sweet.

11/21/00-The New York Daily News' Mitchell Fink reported that Justin and Britney were spotted in Miami house hunting, though not necessarily for a home together.

11/14/00- Britney's recent European interview in Sweden with youngsters where she addresses her virginity, dating Justin, her drinking in Germany, and a host of other issues.

Q: Why were you drunk in Germany?

B: Um, I wouldn't say I was drunk. I just had a couple of drinks. No, it's really cool to go out with your friends. I've been such in 'work mode' lately, um, me and the dancers, and the crew, and all the, you know, my support acts, we went out and had a Halloween party. And it's nice to just let your hair down and try to be normal every once in a while and dance and just try to have fun so, but I wasn't drunk.

Q: How do you feel about the comments that Eminem has made about you, and *NSync, and also how far have you gone with Justin from *NSync, are you still a virgin?

B: (BIG look of suprise!) Yes, I am still a virgin. I just, um, I wanna make sure I have the special, the right person before I do soemthing like that. Um, and as far as Eminem goes, actually um, I've met him before at a photo shoot and he was really cool. He's a really cool guy. I really don't think that he means the things that he says, I think that it's a part of his image.. and if he does you know, who cares? Q: Is it true that you and Justin want to do a musical together?

Q: Is it hard to date Justin when you have got photographers all around you all the time?

B: Is it hard to be trusting?

No, actually we try to um.. we're not going to go out to a mall where there's lots of teenagers you know cause of course we'll be bombarded and we'll be recognized and stuff, so we just go out and try to do normal things, you know, like, go to the movies stuff like that.. and in small towns like where we're from there's not photographers there, so it's cool and we try to.. it works out.

Q: Why do you think that you and Justin are such a great couple?

B: You know what, we've known each other since I was 12, 11 years old, and it's just really weird. When I saw him again, it was just like.. we had that.. spark again. I don't know.. it was really weird. And I guess we just feel comfortable with each other cause we both are kinda goin through the same thing, and I don't know, the chemistry's there and we're just, I don't know.. ya know? 11/14/00- MMC castmate Kerri Russell is commenting on her fellow castmates to EW Online saying, "I love going to the newsstand and seeing someone I knew when they were 12 on the cover of Rolling Stone. It cracks me up. JC is mostly my age, but Britney, Christina, and Justin were in a younger age group, so I'm more protective of them. When I hear that someone's written something negative about any of them wearing skimpy outfits, I get upset. They're 18, give em a break!"

11/14/00- The Enquirer reveals that the Halloween night Britney was partying in Germany, Justin Timberlake spent three hours dancing and chatting with a scantily clad blonde at club Level in South Beach.

11/12/00-Rav Singh reports that Britney Spears has admitted to him that she's been receiving B12 vitamin booster injections explaining, "I just have them to give me that little extra push."

11/11/00- Mitchell Fink of the New York Daily News reports Friday 1that Justin Timberlake was overheard in the greenroom of The Rosie O'Donnell Show bragging about plans to buy pearls for "my girl", as he described Britney. He further explained the pearls were "part of a whole package."

11/11/00- When *NSYNC was on Regis yesterday, he questioned Justin about the Mitchell Fink article Friday Justin replied, "I'm not saying anything! What if she's watching?"

11/11/00- *NSYNC's Joey called into the Howard Stern Show on Wednesday. Howard asked Joey if he's ever seen Justin and Britney messing around, and Joey said he's never even seen them kiss and he doesn't know much about their relationship. Howard also questioned whether Britney was really a virgin especially if she had her nipples pierced. Howard later asked, "Can't he just get her high and bang her?" and asked to speak to Justin, but he was away on a photo shoot while Joey called in.

11/10/00- The Sun reports that Britney has now asked Prince William's younger brother Prince Harry to a party at London's Planet Hollywood next week to mark the end of her European tour, and Buckingham Palace has said Harry would love to go if he can get out of his school night curfew obligations.

11/10/00- Liz Smith is reporting that Madonna wore Britney t-shirts not to make fun of her, but out of maternal concern, since she's aware of how it is to be the object of obsessive press attention. The song she dedicated to Brit was "What It Feels Like for a Girl".

11/10/00- The Chicago Sun Times reports that Britney Spears was originally up to play Adam Sandler's angel mother in Little Nicky, who is the spawn of Satan in the flick. But after further debate, the role went to Reese Witherspoon, though it's unknown whether Spears schedule could have accommodated the role anyways.

11/8/00- Today on the Rosie O'Donnell show Justin was asked "Are you dating Britney Spears?" and Justin paused and then said "Yeah."

11/8/00- During a free show at the Roseland Ballroom in New York, Madonna sported two different Britney shirts though she seemed to be taking a shot at the singer when Madonna dedicated a song to Britney that included the verse, "Strong inside but you don't know it/Good little girls they never show it/When you open up your mouth to speak/Could you be a little weak." She sang most of the song on her knees.

11/8/00- The weeks old story of Britney getting her nipples pierced has resurfaced in a story in the New York Post Monday, who again report she did it when in Hawaii during April.

11/8/00- We now have conflicting stories as to whether Britney was drinking at Leipzig on Halloween, as the Lond Express reports, Britney "acquainted herself with a number of cocktails including White Russians (a mix of vodka, coffee liqueur and cream), Pina Coladas (rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice) and Soul Kisses (orange juice, Dubonnet, vermouth and whisky)." What’s more, "some claimed to have seen her take a few slugs of the Jim Beam-and-Coke she bought for assorted bodyguards and roadies who accompanied her into the club. She was also said to have indulged in white wine and a bottle of Sekt (German champagne)." But the London Daily Mirror reports, Britney "kept her squeaky clean image intact" by not drinking, "and while her entourage may have spent a fortune on exotic cocktails, Britney kept her head and got high on life."

11/8/00- In an Abstracts.net poll asking if you think Justin wants Britney to shut her mouth about their relationship, 74.1% of you said yes, while only 25.9% said no, with 3008 total votes.

11/6/00- More news on Britney's Halloween party in Germany, as Entertaindom.com reports Spears was seen dancing on top of the bar, smoking cigarettes, and drinking vodka during her party that reportedly cost $12,000. After leaving, Britney was seen still holding a cocktail glass and left her coat in the bar.

11/5/00- Britney Spears along with 'N SYNC and others will perform at Z100's seventh annual Jingle Ball 2000 to be held December 14th at Madison Square Garden in New York. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the Ronald McDonald House and PAX charities.

11/1/00-POP babe Britney Spears leans back into a soft black leather sofa and sighs: “I love Justin. He’s the perfect man for me.”

Justin is, of course, N-Sync star Justin Timberlake — known to most Britney fans as easily the luckiest bloke on the planet.

“We’ve been around each other since we were kids so we know each other very well,” she says, warming to her subject.

“I can always get in touch with him wherever I am in the world — just pick up the phone and have a chat about anything.”

This is the first time Britney has talked to a British newspaper about her feelings for 19-year-old Justin...and there’s no holding her back.

“It’s far too early for us to be talking about marriage just yet,” she smiles. “I like to live day by day and not plan too far ahead.

“But you just don’t know what’s around the corner. I’m not going to say in five years’ time I’m going to get married and have loads of kids. You just don’t know. I’m not ruling anything out.”

Flash. Her complexion is flawless, the eyes bright. She is wearing faded blue jeans, a fawn embroidered top and a woolly hat pulled down to her eyebrows.

“I’ve known Justin since we were kids when we were on the children’s show Mickey Mouse Club in the States,” she goes on, keen to dwell on every moment as much for herself as for me.

“It’s great knowing someone as friends before you start dating.

“I can’t remember the exact day we started dating because we’ve been friends for such a long time, but it’s a great feeling. He’s perfect.”

She leans forward on the sofa to make her point.

“Our relationship works because we’re both in the music industry and we both understand what each other is going through each day.

“It makes everything so easy, otherwise I don’t think it would work because we’d be on different levels.”

Other newspapers claimed she and Justin had parted a few months ago.

“Any truth in that, Britney?” I ask.

The eyes flash. “I don’t know who started that rumour,” she says emphatically. “We never split. That would be too painful. We are soulmates together.”

10/29/00-News of the World interviewed Britney Spears this weekend where the singer denies that she's been emailing Prince William, saying "I really don't know where these stories come from. There were rumors that I e-mailed him, which isn't true. I've never met him or contacted him. I wouldn't mind meeting him, but who wouldn't." Spears added that her boyfriend Justin Timberlake was "the perfect man for me." Spears says of him, "I love Justin. We've been around each other since we were kids so we know each other very well."

10/28/00-Britney Spears is commenting on fact that she's a virgin to the U.K. Daily Star, saying "The virginity issue ... it's a personal decision and it reflects how I feel right now about myself. There are so many emotions involved that I would like to be able to wait until I know I'm with the right person and I'm married." She also talks about Justin Timberlake, saying "I love Justin and we have a good time together, but we're both very busy and right now it's difficult to be even physically together at the same place and time." Finally, of rumors about breast implants, Spears says, "The whole boob job thing has been pretty unpleasant. People were even starting to come up to me and stare at my chest. I wondered why there was all this talk - and why people were being so cruel."

10/27/00-Pagesix.com's Chris Wilson when asked during a recent Yahoo chat if Britney was really dating Prince William at some point said, "This is one of this enduring, ridiculous rumors... She's invited him to some concerts--bascially as a publicity ploy--but they are NOT dating, OK?" Later, when asked about her and Justin, he replied, "They are still dating and are usually clenched in a lusty liplock whenever they're in the same room together."

10/23/00- The Enquirer reports that Britney drank non-alchoholic beverages while Ben drank beer. While Ben was dressed casual, Britney "looked like a million bucks" in a tiny top and very tight black pants. Britney is quoted saying prior of Ben, "I've met him and he's very friendy, cute, and really gorgeous looking. I want to marry him." A friend of the two told the mag, "Justin will probably forgive her because he knows she's always had a crush on Ben and it may be nothing more than her living out her girlish fantasy."

10/19/00-E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports that when Britney isn't around, Justin is seeing other women, including one "quite regularly." But despite the fact he doesn't keep this much of a secret from Britney, she puts up with it, but according to a friend, Justin and Britney are already living together and friends predict that the two will announce they're getting married within a year.

10/14/00-Newsoftheworld.com is revealing comments Christina reportedly made at a New York bar. Her tirade reportedly included "Britney’s not all that! Anyway, who does she think she is? My songs are as good if not better than hers. It’s just that she gets more publicity. We’ll just see who lasts the longest and who’s No1 next year." Remember though, this is the same site that claimed Britney and Justin were engaged.

10/12/00-Speaking of the UK, we hear now that Justin isn't there. Despite earlier reports that he was going there with Britney, UK papers ran stories indicating otherwise, with Thirsty.com even asking if Justin Timberlake, who's been cheated on in many other relationships, may be concerned about Britney being faithful.

10/11/00-The New York Daily News reports that during Britney and Justin's time in LA, they tried to go unnoticed walking arm in arm along Melrose, but got spotted by kids and followed for a few blocks before they made a 'getaway'.

10/11/00-A woman definitely not a fan of Justin's asked E! Online's Ted Casablanca in an online chat this week, "Is Britney blind? Why is she wasting her time on that kinky-haired, flat-nosed, prepubescent shrieking puke we all know as Justin? He's so gross!" Ted replied, "Darling, the boy has never done anything for me, but clearly he's making you run for the toilet, and I think that is a little extreme. Now, let's just flush this out of our systems: Remember, Britney and Justin have history together--a common bond between young superstars."

10/9/00-Jeannette Walls of MSNBC is reporting that Justin Timberlake will be with Britney during her concert run through the UK. A Jive spokesman revealed to The Scoop, "As I understand it, they’re going [to England] together." A source reveals the reasoning, "She’s quite nervous about being in a different country. She’s worried about how a British audience will receive her... Justin’s going to be there for her."

10/8/00-Justin was goofed on last night on MadTV, which showed him and Brit enter his bedroom showcasing all of Justin's hair care products and curling irons, as well has his *NSYNC marionettes.

10/7/00-Entertaindom.com reports that Britney Spears has flown boyfriend Justin Timberlake to the LA with her to calm her nerves, as she is terrified of talking to her British fans during her forthcoming concerts. Normally mother Lynne is by her side in times like this but couldn't make it this time. Brit, Justin, and other friends were in LA's Duke's Coffee Shop expressing worries about talking to the crowd in between songs, but Justin assured her, You'll be fine. You've just toured America for three months, you know what you're doing. Please stop worrying." After Britney couldn't eat her burger, Justin fed her some of his pancakes.

10/7/00-A guy emailed into Popcentric claiming to have seen Justin and Britney in New Orleans. Turns out Britney's tour bus broke down and they were waiting for a limo outside of a hotel.

10/7/00-Worldpop reports Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were again spotted out together Monday in Georgia, celebrating at an Atlanta restaurant The Boundary with 100 crew, cast and dancers.

10/7/00-Rick Dees reported (originally in the Star) on Dees Sleaze today that Britney Spears played strip poker with Ben Affleck, and she lost 6 hands in a row, where she ended up in her bra and panties. They later heard that after everyone else at the party left, Britney stayed the night with Ben. A caller phoned in too tell about how Britney showed up at a salon the next day with no makeup, hair undone, and a t-shirt with no bra... "headlights showing" as the eyewitness attested.

10/7/00-Interesting story out of tennessean.com, as they report Britney and Justin had a great time in Nashville. The two joined Britney's crew and Innosense in the private upstairs room at the Bound'ry for drinks, eats and tour awards. Apparently Britney and the under 21 members of the group were told they couldn't order drinks.

10/1/00-Many people who order CosmoGirl and already received know that Justin's quote about Britney was not in the mag. They are still being seen everywhere together though. I don't know if that quote was just made up or he accually said it but it wasn't printed, because the spokesperson for CG did say before that he said "beatiful things" about Brit.

9/26/00-Worldpop reports that Britney Spears and boyfriend Justin Timberlake were on hand to watch her show at the Mars Music Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach one week after Britney had completed her tour.

9/26/00-This quote is from Justin. I think it's in the November issue of Cosmo Girl with Justin on the cover. The magazine is due out in stores in October. I'm not sure if the quote is real because I have not yet seen it. “When there’s a chemistry between you and someone that you care deeply about, it really doesn’t matter who knows and who doesn’t know. It’s really between you and that person. That’s how Brit and I are. As long as we know we love each other and we care about each other, we don’t have to prove ourselves to the world or whoever else. 9/21/00-E! Online's Ted Casablanca reveals Justin and Britney are still house hunting, we presume in Los Angeles. Ted also shares that Tatyana Ali and Justin attended Continental's new weekly Game Night recently. In addition, Justin has been hanging at home in Millington, Tennessee where he was with his stepdad at the Sonic Drive-In burger chain in nearby Covington.

Britney Spears makes a bubbly confession this month in an interview with Elle magazine: The pop princess confirms that she and fellow ex-Mousketeer Justin Timberlake are involved. In a recent concert, Marianne Faithfull -- once an 18 year old pop queen herself -- said she pities Britney when she reads scathing reports about her in the tabs. Though Faithfull's quick to note that she's never heard any of Spears' songs.

9/16/00-Britney Spears admits she's madly in love with 'N Sync hunk Justin Timberlake -- and they're so happy with each other they don't even have to talk. After months of denial the "Crazy" singer has finally decided to talk out about her love for fellow ex-Mousketeer Timberlake -- although she denies they've even thought about marriage. She says, "Justin and I totally laughed about it. I told him during my show I would wear a big-ass ring just to keep people talking." 9/15/00-For those in despair over Britney's latest admissions of her and Justin being in love, cynics have suggested this may be a smokescreen to cover other romances by both singers. Time will tell.

9/14/00-Britney reveals she may not be a virgin, admitting her favorite TV show is HBO's Sex in the City because "All the things they talk about are so true. Like one show was talking about how guys can have sex without love, so women can do it too? And I have girlfriends who do that. But I just really have to be into someone. If not, what's the purpose?"

9/12/00-From two sources... Rick Dees reports Monday Britney was spotted smoking... and making out with Justin Timberlake at Twirl. His sidekick Ellen K reports Brit has been seen several times smoking. The New York Post claims they may get the photos later this week of Britney smoking. Today the Post reported that she was sitting in Justin's lap while sharing a smoke at Twirl.

9/12/00-Mitchell Fink from New York Daily News was on Showbiz Today on CNN saying "Spears and Aguilera were getting along to the shock of many in the club, but there was no question that both were vying for the attention of Spears on again off again beau Justin Timberlake. Like the Grammy's Christina won, Timberlake and the mini diva were all over each other towards the end of the night. Yet, they left with seperate parties. We all know Christina and Britney share the same personal stylist, but boyfriends?"

9/11/00-101britney.com is reporting a rumor that Britney had an animated conversation with a WNTQ Syracuse DJ named Rick Roberts, telling him via cell phone after the show "My outfit was daring, I told you that. There is no reason to be jealous, I felt and looked sexy." Adding "Whatever Rick....you know I didn't do it to make you mad. I knew you were going to call."

9/9/00-The always controversial GroupieCentral.com is back with their VMA report, saying of Brit and Justin: "They were definitely together, hanging out at the show and partying together afterwards. But we can tell you that this is a case of she being more into him than he is with her. Justin has a roving eye and was keeping his options open, if you know what we mean." They also add "We also hear that Christina is very attracted to Justin Timberlake, but Britney was making sure everyone knew that Justin was with Britney."

9/9/00-Justin interviewed on the Regis show last week said, "We're [him and Britney] not getting married if that's what you're asking. There was a rumor about me getting married. I'm not saying I wouldn't." Britney gave her typical "We're just really good friends" response.

9/7/00-E! Online's Ted Casablanca tells us that Justin and Britney are "definitely" looking to buy a house together in Los Angeles, according to those close to *NSYNC.

8/22/00-Salon.com's Amy Reiter reports that Britney and Justin were spotted dining a deux at Del Frisco's Steakhouse in Orlando. A witness told Amy "They were very close and affectionate, constantly holding hands and gazing into each other's eyes. They shared meals and dessert." When the witness approached Britney in the bathroom, she claimed Spears was rude to her.

8/18/00-Popcentric reports Justin was on WESH NBC talking about him and Britney, where he said "We thought it would be funny since people are always talking about us being together. I have given up talking about my personal life, because no matter what I say, people still believe what they want. No, I am not engaged and no I am not dating Britney. She has been a real good friend since I was 12. We hang out and do things other teenage friends would do, but we are not dating."

8/17/00-E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports that Justin and Britney were seen shopping in Oregon at Urban Outfitters. Justin attended her concert later and they showed him on the jumbo screen. He also adds the two shared a hotel suite at the Radisson in Sacramento.

8/16/00-Ted Casablanca is chiming in on reader's Justin and Britney questions, saying "If they have plans to move in together, why does that necessarily mean they've already slept together?" as well as "From what I hear, Justin is more smitten with the strut. If anything, I predict it will be Britney who'll have second thoughts."

8/10/00 -Plenty of dirt today from E! Online's Ted Casablanca, as he reports Britney and Justin are rumored to be house hunting in LA. He also says Britney "knows how to navigate around a punch bowl", more specifically, that they (her and *NSYNC) do drink liquor.

8/9/00 - Two pictures from Justin and Britney's stage appearance at the Teen Choice Awards. They had faked kissing each other when presenting. Brit does look bursting at the seems in her top.

8/9/00 - We're hearing rumors on Groupie Central that Justin Timberlake is actually dating Kayliegh (sp?) and while he still sees Britney, it's mostly for PR and isn't serious.

8/4/00 - A week after their publicized fight, Justin was at SoHo's Club NV dirty-dancing with assorted beauties, with Britney nowhere in sight according to the New York Daily News. Is their relationship over??

8/3/00 - Britney Spears has refused to take part in the Summer Music Mania event in Jacksonville Florida because of the fact DJ Billy Goat's station is hosting it, reports popcentric. Brit has a restraining order against the DJ because of whatever he did when she last played in Daytona.

8/3/00 - More details are rolling in on Justin's fight with Britney last week at Chaos last week, as MTV veejay Thalia apparently was at the heart of the trouble. E! Online's Ted Casablanca interviewed a witness who said of Thalia "She totally had her eyes on Justin. She was an 'N Sync slut, and to put it mildly, Britney was not happy." Britney stormed off as Justin flirted with Thalia, instead hanging with her dancers. The witness also reports "Britney looked horrendous without makeup, with a complexion that would make Cam Diaz look as clear as Calista Flockhart's desire not to eat."

7/30/00- More details emerging from Justin and Britney's night at Chaos Wednesday morning, as the New York Daily News reports the two were "real lovebirds, completely uninhibited" according to a spy at the club, who also saw the two making out for a half hour in their banquette. Around 3 am though, the two got in a heated argument as the two walked out in different directions, but eventually they both left in Britney's town car.

7/27/00- Pop princess Britney Spears had a camera-toting tourist tossed out of downtown NYC hotspot Chaos early yesterday morning. Spears's security detail sprang into action when Kathryn Anderson, of Miami, snapped a paparazzo-style pic of the teen temptress with a glass in her hand.

Within seconds Anderson, 31, says she was surrounded by Spears's beefy bodyguards, who gruffly demanded that the out-of-towner cough up the camera.

Anderson says she refused, and was escorted out by Spears's handlers. Anderson says she first tried to snap a picture of Spears in the ladies' room, but the normally sweet-as-sugar songbird snapped at her.

"She was drunk and belligerent," Anderson claimed to Page Six. But club reps say that Spears, 18, drank only soda and juice.

"She said to me, 'I don't want any pictures... I don't look good enough right now.' That made me mad, so I followed her out to the club and took another picture of her with a drink in her hand."

Spears, clad in a white lace top, tight blue jeans and sultry black eye makeup, showed up at 2 am with beau Justin Timberlake of 'N Sync, her brother Bryan, singer Jive and two bodyguards.

The Britney brigade declined to hang in the upstairs VIP room and instead took over a large banquette in the downstairs "Portrait Room," alongside the club's Wednesday night promoters and pals Kiki, Dimitri and Unik.

Chaos spokesman Ron Alan says the club served Spears cranberry and sodas all night and Timberlake, 19, who danced up a storm with his busty beau, guzzled nothing stronger than bottled water. "If Britney was drinking, she wasn't doing it at Chaos," Alan says.

The club's security director, Frank McHugh, said Spears and other underage clubgoers must wear a pink neon bracelet, which bars them from drinking booze.

"It's bright," he said. "You wouldn't mistake it for a Harry Winston bracelet." Brazilian stunner Giselle Bundchen, 19, has also sported the accessory.

Spies tell us a bottle of Absolut vodka was being passed around at Britney's banquette, but no one saw her partake.

"She seemed fine and was very graceful to our staff," Alan said. "She had a great time dancing with Justin and didn't leave until 3:30 am. From what we can tell, her good-girl reputation is still intact."

Spears's spokesperson had no comment.

7/27/00- The New York Daily News reports that while Britney was playing down her and Justin's relationship in YM, her actions speak otherwise. Britney made a special trip to New York Tuesday to hang at the trendy Lotus, where a source revealed "Britney and Justin were totally together."
