Season Two will begin on the 13th April on ABC at 8pm in the US. Season Two in the UK will start in early spring on T4 (channel 4)
Debut Episode. A nationwide talent search takes place during November of 1999 in Honolulu, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas, Nashville, Chicago, New York City, and Orlando. twenty-five finalists are chosen who move down to Orlando, Florida. The twenty-five is narrowed down to eight. See Making the Band.
As the eight finalists move into their new home, they prepare for a busy schedule of singing, dancing and preparing to be the next big thing on the music scene. However, Hawaiian Ikaika struggles with being away from home making him distant from the other seven guys. Paul enjoys a night out with the ladies.
Showing their commitment to the band, Jacob and Erik write a song together, however, the guys go out partying much to their management's disapproval. Manager Lou Pearlman and the Trans Continental staff assess the group's progress so far leading Trevor to doubt he has what it takes.
Ikaika's girlfriend Malia, and Paul's girlfriend Carrah, visit the house causing tension between Paul, Heather and Carrah as well as forcing the two guys to question their commitment to their relationships and the group. Lou examines Paul's progress.
There is band rivalry between Mike and Ashley when they meet Cori despite Ashley's girlfriend, Shellie, visiting. the eight progress vocally and there is trouble when Jenny reacts shamefully towards Erik.
There are mixed reactions when the record contracts are handed out. Ashley has to compete with his aspirations and family wishes back home. Jacob and Trevor talk to Jay about their concerns over Ikaika's apparent lack of commitment to the tasks.
An episode highlighting the eight guy's progress (US only). The cameras follow Jacob, Mike, Bryan, Paul, Ashley, Erik, Trevor and Ikaika as we see clips from the auditions, family troubles and the emotional problems they have faced. We see the guys competing to be in the final five.
Paul shocks the group in an emotional episode where he announces his desire to leave. After talks with Lou, he leaves, leaving behind a shocked group. Ikaika causes further worries when he arrives back in Orlando, only to leave for Hawaii again. The remaining six begin contract negotiations.
With the contracts delayed, Jacob, Mike, Bryan, Ashley, Erik and Trevor celebrate New Year's Eve in style. However, publicist Jay demands the guys leave early causing problems between Jay and Trevor. Jacob meets a potential love interest.
The guys record "All for Love" but Ikaika's return once again causes upsets between the remaining band mates. Jacob reveals a shocking statement concerning his future in the band if Ikaika is picked. As the cut becomes ever closer everyone gathers for a meeting confronting Ikaika about his absence.
Lou arrives at the house to try to settle the problems between Ikaika and Jacob. They settle their differences as the seven spend an emotional final day together. Everyone gathers at the house for the contracts to be signed and the final five to be announced.
The cut is made with the two guys who didn't make it quickly leaving. The remaining five are immediately prepared to become stars. Ashley and Shelley's relationship show signs of strain due to the distance between them.
There are makeovers and photo shoots as stardom becomes ever closer for the five, now named O Town after their origin, Orlando. Everyone is worried about the effect of fame on their lives. Despite the support of the guys, Ikaika still hasn't adapted to life in O Town as all five discover the sacrifice they have to pay for fame.
The guys address the vocal and dancing problems but with their first performance ever closer, the pressure is on. Will everything come together?
The group arrives at the house of Blues but nerves make a disastrous performance in front of a top MTV executive. Managers and coaches immediately comes out to question the performances of the guys with the band questioning their future. Attitudes and egos cause problems in the group tearing the group apart. Luckily, they overcome them.
The first performance arrives with the group delivering a strong performance in front of record executives. Was it good enough to create interest for a record contract? The group meet up with Paul, Mike and Bryan for a photo shoot in Los Angeles but Ikaika doesn't arrive surprising the band.
The guys settle down for a day of phone, radio and magazine interviews plus a photo shoot. Ikaika arrives with brother but things still aren't right with tension rising between the Kahanu's and Jay. Ikaika once again disappears, later returning with a shock decision causing the band to be one member short and the production team thousands of dollars with the cost of the cancelled photo shoot.
The guys beg Ikaika to finish the photo shoot then go. He wants to but his older brother orders him to return to Hawaii. Determined to remain as four, Lou challenges them to re-record "Baby I Would" but with Erik's voice rapidly worsening and the lack of a fifth member they disappointedly admit to needing a fifth member, Whilst at the cinema, they all agree that Dan Miller, one of the twenty-five semi finalists, should be the fifth member and rush off to tell Lou.
Dan arrives in Orlando for a two day audition with the band. He sees the band being scolded for their lack of practice and commitment. Mark, the vocal coach, threatens to quit so Lou steps in to refocus the group's attention. He imposes are curfew days before they are due to leave to record in Germany. Lou welcomes Dan into the group.
Erik is still ill and is criticized for partying by his band mates, Lou and Jay. With Erik still ill, they leave for Germany but when Erik misses recording two songs with the group to go to the doctors, he feels disconnected to the group and questions his future in O Town. On returning to Orlando, Jacob is angry to discover that the record company aren't keen on breaking the formula by allowing the group to write their own material.
The band relocate for a break in Cancun with Ashley and Dan's girlfriends going too. Shelley talks about how her dreams of having children and being married to Ashley have been destroyed by his actions. Ashley breaks off the relationship, allowing them both to move on with their lives.
O Town arrives in New York to perform in front of a record company for a record deal. They then head for Georgia for a performance in front of 2000 people. It is Dan's first performance for a crowd. After an excellent performance, the five talk about their dreams. We see the group three months later signing a record deal under Clive Davis' record label, J records. The group hears another season of "Making the Band" has been ordered.
