The amazing creation of earth and its relationship with mountains

The mountains, like pegs, have deep roots embedded in the ground. (Anatomy of the Earth, Cailleux, p. 220)
Allah Almighty said: "Have We not made the earth as a bed, and the mountains as pegs? (The Noble Quran, 78:6-7)"
He the Almighty also said: "And He has set firm mountains in the earth so it would not shake with you....(The Noble Quran, 16:15)"

While I was watching the "Al-Jazeera" Arabic news channel through my satellite dish, I saw a documentary program explaining how the mountains were formed/created on earth, and what's their effect on the earth's geology.

Let us look at Noble Verse 31:10 "He created the heavens [sky] without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. we send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs."

Let us look at Noble Verses 16:15-16 "And He has set up on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that ye may guide yourselves, and marks and signposts and by the stars (men) guide themselves."

Let us look at Noble verses 21:30-31 "Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?

And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with them, and We have made therein broad highways (between mountains) for them to pass through: That they may receive guidance."

Let us look at Noble Verses 13:1-4 "Alif Lam Mim Ra. These are the signs of the book: that which hath been revealed unto thee from they Lord is the truth; but most men believe not.

Allah is He Who raised the heavens [sky] without any pillars that ye can see; then He established Himself on the throne (of Authority); He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His Law)! Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs, explaining the signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.

And it is He Who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and (flowing rivers: and fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two: He draweth the night as a veil O'er the day. Behold, verily in these things there are Signs for those who consider!

And in the earth are tracts (diverse though) neighbouring, and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn, and palm trees growing out of single roots or otherwise: watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who understand!"

Let us look at Noble Verse 15:19 "And the earth We have spread out; set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance."

Let us look at Noble Verses 50:6-9 "Do they not look at the sky above them? How We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it?

And the earth We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)

And We send down from the sky rain charged with blessings, and We produce therewith gardens and grain for harvests;"

Let us look at Noble Verses 78:4-8 "Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know!

Let us look at Noble Verse 27:61 "Or, Who has made the earth firm to live in; made rivers in its midst; set thereon mountains immovable; and made a separating bar between the two bodies of flowing water? (can there be another) god besides God? Nay, most of them know not."

Let us look at Noble Verse 50:7 "And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)-"

We can clearly see from the above Noble Verses (13:1-4,15:19,16:15-16, 21:30-31, 31:10, 50:6-9, 78:4-8, 27:61 and 50:7) that Allah Almighty created the mountains to stand firmly on earth, and to stabilize the earth and not let it shake or get out of balance (15:19,16:15-16, 21:30-31 and 31:10).

According to the scientific discovery that I saw on T.V., geologists discovered that for every curved object' height that is above the earth's surface (such as mountains and hills) it is expanded 10 to 15 times more inside earth.

For for instance, if a mountain's height is 4,000 feet, then its expansion inside the earth is approximately 40,000 to 60,000 feet.

This expansion inside the earth, according to what they (the geologists) claim, keeps the earth together while its revolving in a high speed around itself, and prevents it from getting out of balance and shaking while revolving.

If mountains and hills didn't exist today, then the earth's incredible fast rotation around itself would be shaky and we would be having earth quakes every minute of our lives.

It is quite amazing that we find such valuable information revealed very accurately in the Noble Quran, a Holy Scripture that was revealed from GOD Almighty more than 1400 years ago.

The Quran on Mountains:

A book entitled Earth is a basic reference textbook in many universities around the world. One of its two authors is Professor Emeritus Frank Press. He was the Science Advisor to former US President Jimmy Carter, and for 12 years was the President of the National Academy of Sciences, Washington, DC. His book says that mountains have underlying roots. [1] These roots are deeply embedded in the ground, thus, mountains have a shape like a peg (see figures 7, 8, and 9).

Have We not made the earth as a bed, and the mountains as pegs? (Quran, 78:6-7)

Modern earth sciences have proven that mountains have deep roots under the surface of the ground (see figure 9) and that these roots can reach several times their elevations above the surface of the ground. [2] So the most suitable word to describe mountains on the basis of this information is the word ‘peg,’ since most of a properly set peg is hidden under the surface of the ground. The history of science tells us that the theory of mountains having deep roots was introduced only in the latter half of the nineteenth century. [3]

Mountains also play an important role in stabilizing the crust of the earth. [4] They hinder the shaking of the earth. God has said in the Quran:

And He has set firm mountains in the earth so that it would not shake with you... (Quran, 16:15)

Likewise, the modern theory of plate tectonics holds that mountains work as stabilizers for the earth. This knowledge about the role of mountains as stabilizers for the earth has just begun to be understood in the framework of plate tectonics since the late 1960’s. [5]

Could anyone during the time of the Prophet Muhammad

have known of the true shape of mountains?

Could anyone imagine that the solid massive mountain which he sees before him actually extends deep into the earth and has a root, as scientists assert? A large number of books of geology, when discussing mountains, only describe that part which is above the surface of the earth. This is because these books were not written by specialists in geology. However, modern geology has confirmed the truth of the Quranic verses.
