A Doctor Who Guide

This guide is only based on the years that featured Tom Baker (1974-81) as the Doctor. Baker was the fourth actor to play the Doctor and held the role for longer than any of his colleagues. He played the Doctor with humour and a childish exuberance without detracting from the Doctor's intelligence. He is by far my favourite Doctor.

The Guide, Part Two

Terror of the Zygons
Back on Earth, the Brigadier activates a psionic beam the Doctor has left him. The Doctor returns to answer the distress call to find that something is attacking British oil rigs and haunting the Scottish moors. Harry Sullivan's last episode.

Planet of Evil
The TARDIS answers a distress call on a planet 30 000 years in the future and on the edge of the known universe. Known as Zeta Minor, the planet is occupied by a lost scientific expedition, the soldiers searching for them and a monster which only attacks at night.

Pyramids of Mars
While the Doctor unhappily reflects that he's nearing middle-age, the TARDIS is attacked by a being with extraordinary mental powers. The Doctor and Sarah arrive in 1911 at the old priory which later becomes UNIT headquarters. Possessed archaeologists, deadly mummies and an ancient evil await them.

The Android Invasion
The Doctor and Sarah arrive in what seems to be the English village of Devesham. Strange things are afoot, however, and the Brigadier is away from his post at UNIT. The soldiers and villagers are all behaving strangely - almost as if they weren't human.

The Brain of Morbius
When the TARDIS is redirected to the planet of Karn, the Doctor blames the Council of the Time Lords. The reason for this soon becomes clear when they discover a mad scientist and his assistant decapitating innocent bystanders and a paranoid sisterhood which believes the Doctor has been sent to steal their magic elixir.
