This page covers the return of streetcars to Queens Quay that began in 1990. (Daily service along Queens Quay ended on February 28th, 1963, when the DUPONT car was replaced by the 6 BAY bus. Some DUNDAS cars continued to operate to the docks during the late evening and on summer weekends for the next three years, but the last streetcars ran on Queens Quay on August 15th, 1965.)

This new streetcar route, numbered in the same series as the rapid transit lines, replaces the Queens Quay section of the 77 SPADINA bus. Cars operate from a new underground streetcar loop at Union Station, via Bay Street and Queens Quay to an off-street loop at Spadina. Rebuilt PCC streetcars are assigned to all trips on this route.

Due to track work in preparation for the opening of the 510 SPADINA streetcar route in the Queens Quay and Spadina area, the Queens Quay loop is closed to all transit vehicles. All 510 HARBOURFRONT cars are replaced by an extension of the 77 SPADINA bus, which operates from Spadina Station via Spadina, Queens Quay and Bay to Union Station, looping via Front, Scott and Wellington.
