Kelly was frantically combing her hair when she heard a car horn honk outside, signaling her ride to school had arrived. She stuck her tongue out at her image in the mirror and relunctantly walked out the door. She greeted her friend Cammy as she climbed into the car. "I can't believe our vacation is over," Kelly sighed. Cammy agreed, "I know. It went by so fast. So what did you do?" Kelly updated her friend, telling her how she had met All Access, while Cammy discussed her ski trip. They pulled into the parking lot at Clovis High School and climbed out of the car. As the two friends were walking to their first period class, they became deeply engrossed in a conversation regarding an upcoming English essay. Kelly shuffled through her binder for notes, not paying attention to where she was going. All of a sudden, she felt herself hit something and fell to the ground. Kelly looked up and saw Kevin standing over her, while Cammy tried to cover her laughter. "Are you okay?" Kevin asked as he helped her up. "Yeah I'm fine," she said. "I'm so sorry. This is so embarrassing." "Don't worry about it," he said and bent to help her gather her fallen notes. "Hey you finally saw me at school!" "I know!" Kelly said, just as the bell rang. They said goodbye, then departed for class. "That's Kevin," she informed Cammy, who was still laughing at her fall. "He is cute," Cammy admitted. The tardy bell rang and the girls fell silent as their teacher stood up to welcome everyone back. After the lunch bell rang, Laura and Kelly met their friends in the parking lot and they discussed where to eat. They finally decided to meet at Dai Ichi's. Laura, Kelly, and Trina climbed into Arthur's jeep, Sally, Linda, and Erin went with Roonggan, and Diwata said she would be there soon. The friends arrived at the restaurant and ordered their food. While they were waiting, Nick, Kevin, and Brian entered, followed by a crowd of people. When she saw Nick, Laura began choking on her soda. "What's wrong?" Roonggan asked. "I.. just.. saw... Nick...Carter," Laura said in between gulps of air. Everyone looked confused, except Sally and Kelly. "Who?" Erin questioned. "Only the finest guy in our whole school," Kelly said sarcastically. "At least according to Laura." "Shh," Laura said, her face turning bright red. "He might hear you!" "I still don't know who he is," Trina declared. "I'm sure you do," Laura said. "Diwata, he's in our English class." "He is?" Diwata scratched her head. "Yeah he's the tall blond one. He sits right behind you." "Oh yeah," Diwata's face lit up as she recalled who Nick was. "He's the one who sleeps all the time and never does his work." "Yeah," Laura said. "Wait a minute..." She was interrupted when their number was called. While the friends ate, Nick, Kevin, and Brian stood up to leave. On their way out the door, Kevin noticed Kelly. "Hey are you okay?" he asked her. "Yeah," she said, blushing. Her friends looked at her questioningly. "I'll explain later." "Hi Laura," Nick greeted her. "Hey Nick," Laura said shyly. They began discussing an English assignment they had received over break. Arthur glanced at his watch. "Sorry to interrupt, but we gotta go back," he told them. Everyone stood up and Laura and Kelly waved goodbye to Nick and Kevin. All the way back to school, the girls chatted incessantly about their discussion with the guys.
Part 5
Sixth period passed quickly and Laura found herself actually looking forward to English at the end of the day. She walked into Ms. Bennett's classroom, sat down, and began a converstation with Diwata. The bell rang and Laura turned around, listening intently to her discuss the novel they just completed. Suddenly, Laura felt someone tap her on the shoulder. She turned around as Diwata handed her a piece of paper. She looked at her friend questioningly, but just received a shrug in return. Laura slyly opened the paper and read: Hey Laura, See I told you I noticed you. How's your day going so far? Do you want to meet tomorrow for lunch? You can bring some of your friends if you want and I'll bring the rest of the guys. Nick Laura responded to his questions, then tried discreetly to pass the note back to Diwata; however, Ms. Bennett noticed Laura handing her the paper. She grabbed it from Diwata and opened it, scanning to figure out who had written it. "Laura, Nick, I'll see you guys after class," Ms. Bennett said, then continued with her lesson. After the bell rang, Laura and Nick remained in their seats. Ms. Bennett admonished them on passing notes in class, then dismissed them with a wave of her hand. As Laura walked out to the parking lot, she heard Nick yell, "Hey Laura! Wait up!" She waited while he ran to catch up to her. As they walked to the parking lot, Nick apologized for getting her in trouble. "Oh it's okay," she said. "So where do you want to go to lunch tomorrow?" "Umm.. how about Carl's Jr.?" he suggested. Someone called his name and he waved them away. "That's fine." "Well I'll see ya then. Bye Laura," Nick said. "Bye Nick," she stood there until he ran out of her sight, then let out a loud scream and bounced over to where her friends were standing. Laura excitedly told them about what had transpired. While she was talking, Sky Lynn walked up and pulled Kelly aside. "Hey look what someone left on my car," she thrust a red rose into Kelly's face. "Ooo Sky Lynn," Kelly teased her. "Somebody likes you." Sky Lynn blushed furiously. "I just wish I knew who it was." "They didn't leave a note or anything?" "Nope," Sky Lynn's eyes lit up. "Hey maybe it's AJ... nah he has a girlfriend. Anyway I just wanted to let you know. See ya later." "Bye," Kelly said. She then rejoined her friends and told them about Sky Lynn's secret admirer.
Part 6
The next morning, Kelly and Cammy were standing by the lockers, waiting for the bell to ring. Just as they were about to leave, Laura walked up and deposited a huge stack of books into her locker. "Hey guys," Laura said as she slammed the door shut. "Hi Laura," Kelly greeted her. "What's up?" "Oh my gosh!!" Laura screamed. "I'm going out to lunch with Nick Carter." She began jumping up and down. Kelly grabbed her arm. "Calm down," she said. Laura blushed. "Sorry," she smiled sheepishly. "Anyway, so you guys wanna come?" "Us?" Cammy blinked. "Yeah sure," Laura shrugged. "Nick said I could invite people, so I'm inviting you." "Cool," said Kelly. "So should we just meet you in the parking lot?" "I guess. I don't know how we're going to get there though, since Cammy doesn't have her car today. Maybe I should invite Arthur." Kelly laughed, "Maybe. It would be nice to have a ride." At this, the bell rang and the girls headed to their classes. The day flew by until fourth period. As Laura sat in her philosophy class, she glanced at the clock every five minutes, willing time to go by more quickly. Finally, the end of the period approached and the teacher gave everyone time to put away their stuff. While Laura was gathering her notes, Steve, one of the guys she had a crush on, walked up to her. "Hey," he said. "Oh hi Steve," Laura replied. "What's up?" "Nothing," he stood there with his hands in his pockets. Laura looked at him questioningly. "I was .. um... wondering if you would... um.. would like to go to lunch with me today," he cleared his throat nervously. "Oh I would love to," Laura looked disappointed. "But I already have plans. How about tomorrow?" "Yeah sure," Steve smiled. The bell rang, Laura picked up her backpack, and walked out of the room, in search of Arthur. She finally found him standing near his classroom. Laura grabbed his arm and he flinched, startled. "You scared me," Arthur said accusingly. "Sorry," Laura apologized. "You wanna go out to lunch?" "Yeah. Where are we going?" "Carl's Jr., " she informed him. "Cool." They walked out to the parking lot, where Kelly, Sally, and Cammy stood waiting. The friends piled into Arthur's purple jeep and took off to meet Nick and the rest of All Access.
