  • Underwent surgery for torn cartilage in his right knee on February 28, 1998 and back on action on March 21, 1998, against the Oilers.

  • Mon, 2/8/99, Fuhr underwent arthroscopic (right) knee surgery at Barnes Jewish Hospital, and will be out 4-6 weeks. Back on the net on 3/12/99 againts Edmonton.
  • Fuhr' 100th Career Win (as a Blues): March 13, 1999, againts Edmonton.
  • Fuhr' 400th NHL career victory: Friday 10/22/99, againts Florida(W 3-2) with 29/31 saves (career record 400-286-113) and become the 6th NHL goalie to reach the milestone.

ACCOMPLISHMENT

Fuhr posted a 2.53 goals against average, which was a career best. Of his 29 wins last season, 21 were at home. He posted a 21-8-4 home record and a 8-13-2 road record. Fuhr recorded three shutouts last season, all with final scores of 2-0. He ranks fifth on the all-time win list with 382 career victories and is first among active goalies. Fuhr needs 26 wins to surpass Glenn Hall for fourth all-time.
He ranks third on the Blues all-time games played list (210), trailing Curtis Joseph (280) and Mike Liut (347). He needs 18 wins for 400 career wins. Fuhr has played in 210 of the last 246 games (85%) for the Blues. He established a NHL record in 95-96 for most games played by a goaltender with 79 and most consecutive starts with 76.

He was runner-up for the NHL’s Calder Trophy in 81-82. He finished second for the Vezina Trophy in 81-82 and won the Vezina Trophy in 87-88 (finished with a career best 40-24-9 record). Set a NHL record in 83-84 with 14 assists in one season. He has played in the NHL All-Star Game six times (82, 84, 85, 86, 88, 89). Grant was a member of five Stanley Cup Championship Teams with the Edmonton Oilers (84, 85, 87, 88, 90). Shared William M. Jennings Trophy with Hasek in 94. NHL First All-Star Team (88),NHL Second All-Star Team (82),WHL First All-Star Team (80,81).
