The show began
with the usual jokes by Jay Leno about the
president, ect. and the first person to be
interviewed on the show was Sissy Spacek.
After Sissy was done Jerry O'Connell did an
interview (including a long lost
commercial of him eating cookies). Then,
within the last few minutes of the show the
New Radicals got up on stage to perform their
hit single "You Get What You Give". It
started with Gregg sitting on a box and then the song took off. Gregg then jumped up and started with
a few "ooooohs" then screamed "ONE, TWO, ONE
TWO THREE OWW!". During the song Gregg
changed around a few of the lyrics like
"Every night we pop a Mercedes Benz" and a
couple of specific four-letter-words. He also
changed the lyric "Just dont be afraid to
leave" to "Just dont be afraid to die". After that he went to the ever-popular verse at
the end of the song, but it was changed to
"Linda Tripp and Shirley Manson, youre all
fakes run to your mansions, come around we'll
kick your ass in!" and with that, he grabbed
the microphone and kicked the stand away so
he could dance around.
When the
song was over, Gregg shook Jay
Lenos' hand and walked off. The odd thing
about that is he wasn't there at the closing
part of the show when Jay thanks all of his
guests, even though the rest of the band was there. But all together it was an OK show...
