Stuck in the 80's

Okay, the 80's weren't all bad. Sure the hair was big, and so were the shoulder pads, but they were fun. Come on, those of you old enough to remember, they were fun. When else could you color coordinate your hair with your outfit? I just watched Valley Girl on TV the other day, so I am feeling nostalgic!

The 80's.

The decade of the mohawk, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

No, what makes you feel old is when you recall seeing an advertisement for the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a game magazine when they first came out (before TV, movies, or anything).

On second thought, what REALLY makes you feel old is when you can remember the first time you saw smurfs, before they got on TV. (For you kids too young to remember smurfs, ask your parents)

Smurfette was my favorite and I loved the little mushroom houses! What about some of that really cool eighties music that we all still listen to in secret?

I just watched "Valley Girl" a couple of weeks ago, as well. The biggest impression I still get from that movie is that Nicholas Cage is a big dork (and I mean that with a love and respect).

You forgot crimping, Voltron and "Just One of the Guys".

Ah, Jess, you, Willow and me. They've been showing it a lot on USA recently, so that was a bonus while I've been sick... and I got "Better Off Dead" for Christmas (or should I say Festivus?) so it's been a Johnapalooza.

Also, if you wanna delve into some quality 80's sitcom programming; weekday mornings on USA, at 800 they show "Webster", "The Facts of Life" and "Gimme a Break" all in a row. Neato, huh?

As far as music goes, what about some Bananarama, The Go-Go's, Tears for Fears and Cyndi Lauper? Heck, I even have some Chicago. Oh, and what about the techno-disco sound of The Pet Shop Boys?

Natalie,
Just trying to bring a little Smurfiness into everyone's lives. Well that and the fact I've had it in my head for days and want everyone else to suffer.

The Smurfs? The Smurfs? I hated that tune..if I hear it one more time, I swear by the power of Grayskull...er, sorry...getting a little carried away. Smurfs were ok, definitely not a favorite.

Smurfs, 80 little men in a village with one woman and they have to go out and FIND a baby? Sure Gargamel made it, sure he did!

Love of Smurfdom, my foot (watching my language for the board bosses). BTW, I started singing the theme, and Nick threatened to beat me with his rented copy of Austin Powers.

Smurfs(shudder) I still have nightmares about those creepy little blue thigs! Running all around the place, singing in those little high pitched voices. Always smiling and helping each other out of trouble. And they were always happy! It's not natural to be that happy all the time! What kind of an example was that to set for our young malleable minds? What kind of false expectations? Why oh why did you have to bring up Smurfs? My first chance to post in glory knows how long and it has to be about Smurfs! To make it worse, they're making a comeback!!!!! It's a cruel world.

Kerrid(mabey I should look into caffine rehab as well. What do you think?)

And Kerrid, I think you had better check into Caffeine Addicts Anonymous along with the rest of us. Or maybe some therapy. (La la la la la la la la...)

Thanks, but it's no injury, just bruises. I've got a horribly thick skull.

From what I remember, you got it right. Now who can come up with the rest of the song?

I don't remember ever hearing that David didn't have a girlfriend, he just didn't mention it. And what kind of shoe was it that started?
