People mill about. "Dingoes Ate My Baby" play on the stage. Willow sits at a table gazing at Oz, as he plays his guitar. Xander and Cordy sit cozily on a couch. Karyn enters with a film crew.
KARYN
Okay, just make sure the cables don't get in anyone's way. Antonio, get the Grip working
on the lighting stuff... NOW! Mark, how's the
audio looking?
MARK
Good.
KARYN
Great. Everyone else, you know
what to do. So, go, go, GO!
The film crew scatters, setting up their respective equipment.
XANDER
What's all this?
KARYN
Live coverage.
XANDER
Of?
KARYN
Does it mean nothing to you that every
Tuesday, you guys have been doing things
that you've already done?
WILLOW
So? It just happens sometimes. It's normal.
KARYN
Well, wait till you hear my theory.
CORDY
Theory?
XANDER
And what would this theory be?
KARYN
Well, you know how on TV, they show re-runs?
(everyone nods)
Okay... what if... all this...
(motioning to their surroundings)
was all part of a TV show?
Everyone laughs. Then they stop.
XANDER
No... it couldn't be. Besides, who would be
interested in watching the boring life of Sunnydale?
KARYN
No, no, no... not just a TV show about the boring life
of Sunnydale... but the other stuff that goes on here.
WILLOW
Like...
(making vampire staking motions)
...that stuff?
KARYN
(nodding)
Yep. What if you were all just part of a
weekly series and everything you said,
did and thought was written by a man...
CORDY
No man could create this.
KARYN
... a man named... Joss Whedon.
Everyone stares wide-eyed.
WILLOW
But... Joss Whedon is just a myth... right?
I mean, he's just a fairy tale... you know, for kids**...
KARYN
I dunno... but I've been hearing rumours.
Which is why I brought the camera crew
in here. Apparently, a new "episode" is going
to occur in just nine days. I thought we'd do
a countdown to see what happens.
Everyone stares at Karyn.
KARYN (CON'T)
Oh, you guys are too much! I'm kidding!!
They all laugh.
CORDY
You'll do anything to pull a good prank, won't you?
XANDER

(shaking his head)
