Subject: A spin-off?

From this week's Entertainment Weekly.

Blood Brothers The WB is already talking about creating a spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the show's producers, Twentieth Century Fox TV. Creator Joss Whedon (along with coexecutive producer David Greenwalt) is said to be up for the challenge of duplicating his cult hit. One stipulation: If the new series--which would debut in fall 1999--is to materialize, Twentieth is demanding a 13-episode commitment from the WB.

I think a great spin-off would be, "Angelus". It could be about Angel's earlier adventures, such as his first encounters with Drucilla and, later on, with Spike. Come to think of it, if they did end up killing off Angel on "Buffy," it would be a great way to keep those Boreanaz fans at the WB...

Karyn, another screen name? Oh well, it was going to happen sooner or later.

Well, I'm thinking that our earlier ideas could be the spin-off. Like "Buffy, the Vampire" about a teenage girl trying to hide her vampirism from her mother while ditching school so she won't die from the sun's deadly UV rays (even more deadly in her case).

Have a day,

I thought of another one. Aly McHannigan. Stars Alyson Hannigan as a lawyer struggling to find herself. Nicholas Brendon plays her boss and long-time crush, who is now with another girl (played by Charisma Carpenter), and her roommate is played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, who mysteriously sneaks out at night armed with stakes and holy water. I don't know where David Boreanaz and Anthony Stewart Head fit in, but I'll find somewhere.

Or how about this: The Aly Hour. Just because she's so darn adorable.

TV Guide's possible spin-off listings:

[SCI] "Slayquest DSV" The first in a spin-off series documenting the voyages of the first male vampire slayer-turned-captain of a futuristic submarine. (Jonathan Brandis)

[ABC] "Two guys, a girl and Hellmouth" Roomates Angel and Xander become distraught when long time bud, Buffy, begins dating another guy, leaving them to wash their own dishes.

[CBS] "Cordy Chase" Unlikely dual spin-off of 90's hit shows. FYI, 20 years later. Cordy is nervous about meeting her hero. Candace Bergen makes cameo appearance (and, no, not as the dime lady).

[FOX] "The S-FIles" Special Agents Rosenberg and Harris examine and document the strange happenings of Sunnydale. (Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan)
