I was at home about to get on the computer when my mom came home and told me that Soundgarden had broken up. I thought that she was just messing around. I started getting mad because it's not something to joke around with me. But then I heard KROQ annoucing it and I felt so bad. It sucked big time.

I was with my ex-boyfriend and my sister called me and told me that SG broke up. I didn't believe her, of course. So I turned the radio and they were playing "Blow up the outside world", then the DJ says that he is "going to miss those guys". Tears came to my eyes, I was so pissed off that I would never see them perform in concert.

I was in the first class of high school and I hadn't access to the webthen, so the news hit me quite late... I'm not even sure when... I was just sitting in the morning over my breakfast and there was "Black Hole Sun" on the radio, then two guys were talking about them and they said that SG broke up, they were really sad and I was even more sad... it was like a shot straight in my head...

When SG broke up, I was at home listening to the radio. (That's where I heard.) I immediatly signed on to the Seth's unofficial site to confirm it. (Cuz A) radio stations hardly get anything right, and B) it was so sudden and unbelievable.) Then I started crying and began receiving condolences from friends who called. =(

Driving to work and I heard it on the radio.

I was in school (grade 10) when my friend came in late and was listening to the radio before and told me as soon as she got in. Seriously, I needed to be excused from class, it was cool because my teacher understood, she was also a Soundgarden fan!

I was in the shower, listening to the radio, when they announced it. I screamed so loud, that my family came running to see what was wrong. I was in mourning for months, and would only listen to Soundgarden.

oh man, I was watching The Daily Show (when Craig Kilborn was the host) and they reported on it... that was not the way I'd prefer to hear that kind of news! Because they were making a joke out of it (of course), and it was no joking matter to me at all... I was heartbroken...

when they broke up, i remember that because i was playing my french horn to the tune of "rusty cage" and also watching MTV news at the same time, and right when i got to the part where the song slows down and goes into kick ass mode, kurt loder said that soundgarden is offically broken up. I smashed my french horn on the ground, spat on it, shook my first at the world, and i have been a recluse living in a one room shack in Maine ever since.

Homework! (gaah!) What else do you do when bad news happens? Then you gotta stop, take an "F" on your paper, and spend the rest of the day feeling sad. Not to mention the rest of that week...
