After three days rest, Lucia finally recovered. Zangulus entered his beloved’s room and smiled lovingly at her. “Lucia,” he began, “I’ve been thinking a lot lately. I know I’ll always love Martina, but she’s gone now. I have to face it. But still, there is someone who can take her place, and fill the void in my heart. That’s you, Lucia.”
Lucia sat on the edge of her bed a smiled warmly down at him. “Zang, is there something you wanted to ask me?” Zangulus nodded. He fell to one knee before Lucia, and kissed her hand. “Lucia, I love you not only as a friend, but hopefully, as a wife. Lucia, will you marry me?”
Lucia smiled, overjoyed. “Of course I will, Zangulus! She threw herself into his arms and they kissed. Lucia pulled away and smiled at her future husband. “Will you love me till the day I die?”
“No,” Zangulus replied. “I’ll love you for even longer than that!” He prepared to kiss her again, but she put a finger to his lips to stop him. Zangulus looked at her, confused. “What is it?”
Lucia smiled. “Just promise me you won’t wear that hat to our wedding!”
