I watched Bob Lewis ride fabulous horses when I was a little girl. Little did I dream that he would make my childhood dreams of owning an incredible gaited horse come true!
To say that Bob is amazing is an understatement. Even now, at 85, he learns from his horses. And what spoiled horses they are!
On occasion, the American Horse Shows Association decides to honor a former judge with the distinction of Judge Emeritus. This is no small honor as only eight people (including Helen Crabtree) have ever been so distinguished (and some, unfortunately, posthumously). This distinction is first of all, the equivalent of a Judges Hall of Fame. But, even better, it is across discipline ... sort of like an "Athlete's Hall of Fame" where only the best among the basketball, football, baseball, etc. players are allowed entrance.
I am really pleased to let the rest of you know that Mr. Robert H. Lewis, Jr. will be the ninth person so honored by the AHSA.
