August 14, 2000 - Monday
Today was ...okay. I didn't buy my VCR yet, but I think I picked one out. I did...no,
wait, let me start at the beginning.
I went to bed very late this morning, I wanted to take out the garbage before I retired
for the evening. I did...hurray. I also watched a bit of Less Than Zero, but I couldn't
get in to it and sadly when I ejected it from the VCR, it did get eaten a bit.
I slept quite well, until someone called me around 10 am. When I answered the phone,
they hung up. Sigh. I went back to bed and slept for another couple of hours. When
I got up I wrote a birthday card for one of my nieces then went out window shopping
for the VCR. I found one that's within my price range and it has a feature that I
like, so I think I'll try and get it soon.
I at lunch at McDonald..I like their new burger.. and then got some money at the bank
and took a train to the mall. On the way to the train station I bumped into one
of my students that I hadn't seen in a while as she's on a leave. It was really
nice to see her and we chatted a little.
At the mall I checked out the cinema and sadly Ripley wasn't playing again until 7:00
pm. It was okay as it gave me lots of time to do some shopping. I looked for the
electronic shop in the mall, but it seems to be closed for renovations, so that was
unlucky. I did go for coffee in a new place but I couldn't find any cds or magazines
that I wanted to buy.
It was getting close to 7:00 so I headed back to the theatre, bought my ticket and
sat back to watch The Talented Mr
Ripley. It was great, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
After the film I caught the train back and walked home from the station. The rest
of the evening I watched ER and now I'm watching some music videos on TV. That's
it. I'll likely go to bed soon.
I hope that tomorrow is a good day. I'm back to work, but I think I'm ready!
