June 26, 2000 - Monday

I had a good day today. I got up around 12 I think and managed to leave the house before 2. I had lunch in a little cafe and wandered through some stores on my way downtown. I had originally planned to take a bus tour of Otaru, but I chickened out of it. Oh well, there's always next week.

I decided to go to Mycal again and did a bit of window and real shopping! I bought 3 cds, Jennifer Lopez, Masaharu Fukuyama, and (I don't believe this one) David Cassidy. Yep...I did. I can't believe it. I found a hundred yen shop and got a plastic cup and some hooks for cups.

I checked out the movies and decided that the only ones I was at all interested in seeing were Erin Brockovich or Man in the Moon. I decided to see Man in the Moon, despite not being a Jim Carrey fan. I did enjoy the film, although I don't think I like Andy Kaufman. He was a bit strange! It was interesting seeing most of the Taxi crew again...but where was Tony Danza? I wanna know. Jim Carrey was pretty amazing.

After the movie I debated buying myself the clothes rack I had seen earlier. I would have liked to, but I decided it was too difficult to carry on my back and I haven't figured out how to give my address in Japanese yet, if I took a cab. Instead I bought myself a couple of house dresses...sort of wrap around dresses for the summer and then bought some groceries. Oh yeah, I also bought some movie postcards and get this....2 cans of A&W root beer! I couldn't believe it. This store was selling a bunch of things like cherry cola and they also had Dr. Pepper too. But, A&W Root Beer. Hurray.

My ride/walk home was uneventful, puff puff. I think I'm getting used to the hills a little. At home I ate some of the groceries and then tried to watch TV. Most of it was preempted because of a volcano erupting somewhere in Japan. It's not where I am, so nobody worry!

I'll be going to bed soon so that I can get some sleep and be really genki tomorrow. Bye!
