November 13 , 2000 - Monday
Hello again. I feel okay right now, although I am still coughing and my chest does
still hurt.
I foolishly went to bed last night very very late....4:00 am. Before I went to bed
I called my sister in Canada and we had a good chat. I even got to talk to Katie-chan.
It was funny because she was watching Sesame Street and she kept telling me to look at the TV. She said that there was a K on the screen and I said "K for Katie?"
and she said yes, very definitely. She hasn't realized that I can't see her TV yet!
Then, I also watched Mystery Alaska with my hero Russell Crowe. It was a cool movie,
especially since it was filmed in Canmore Alberta. Russell was great of course.
After the movie, I decided to put the garbage out of the house. I had two big bags
that were taking up a lot of room. Out they went. Yay.
I went to bed and slept very well until my alarm going off. I didn't feel that great
in the morning...I was still tired, but the sharp pain on my stomach had calmed down
to a dull throb...a definite improvement. I debated not going to my Japanese lesson, but I decided that I really should.
I even managed to leave a little early so I wasn't as late as usual.
The lesson was great and I was so glad that I went. It was all about dates, and prices
and numbers. After the lesson I returned my videos, but I felt a bit under the weather
so I just came home and didn't rent any more.
At home I watched the episode of Rosie O'Neil that I'd taped and then I took a nap.
Yep. A nap. 2 or so hours of sleep in the middle of the afternoon. Gotta love
it. It did me the world of good, and when I finally got up I felt so much better.
I got dressed again and headed out. I hoped to get to the train station's ticket
department on time so I could buy my tickets for my New Year holiday. Well, I got
to the main station a few minutes after the office closed, so I decided to go to
the mall again, and try at their train station.
I hopped on the train and then got off at the mall. I went to the ticket agent and
I was able to buy my tickets. They were darned expensive. It's peak time of course
and there's no discount, even though I'm buying them very early. My Japanese lesson
came in very handy today...I was able to give the dates in Japanese and I could say, "Please
give me the tickets." Hurray.
I did a bit of shopping in the mall, and finally got something for my sister. I can't
mail it yet as I don't have any brown paper to wrap it in for mailing, but at least
the hard part is done. I looked in more shops for boots for me and again couldn't
find any. Japanese feet seem to stop at size 24.5. My feet are 25 or 25.5. It's frustrating.
I did find some larger boots yesterday, but they were tall boots and with my large
calves they wouldn't fit. Besides, they were high heeled boots. Not exactly practical for winter.
I came home, watched a bit of "The American President" and a bit of Sabrina. Gabrielle
called me in the middle and we had a great discussion. It was fun.
After that...not much happened. I watched ER, and soon I'll be going to bed. I'm
tired again.
Dare I say....I think I'm getting better? It may be too soon. Keep your fingers crossed
for me. Nighty night.
