February 13, 2001 - Tuesday
Well, I'm back!I had an amazing weekend. I met my friends at the Sapporo Snow Festival,
we ate great food, I saw a good movie, and my water froze in my apartment. That
was neither amazing nor fun! And, to top it all off last night when I was sleeping
the fire alarm went off at 2:35 am and kept going off every hour or so, albeit briefly.
This morning my guest left early, after making arrangements with my landlord to get
my water fixed. I hung around the apartment, not knowing what I should do. I didn't
really feel like going to work as I was dead tired. I couldn't sleep because I was
so worried about the water situation.
I had just decided that I'd take a towel to work and try to have a bit of a wash in
the washroom at work when Justin called and offered me the use of his shower. I
gratefully accepted.
Showered and feeling a bit more human and calm I dressed and headed off for work.
I got my breakfast at a convenience store and did the work thing. Work went well,
except for one class that I almost fell asleep in. Literally. I felt very sorry
for my student in that one. Another student cancelled his lesson which was actually kind of
nice. It gave me the breather that I needed.
After work I quickly finished up my paperwork and headed off home. The landlord had
asked that I go and see him, which I did. He came in my apartment and showed me
some things to do so things don't freeze up again. I didn't really understand him,
but he said he'll call the school again tomorrow and tell the manager.
I also set up my kotatsu tonight. Yay me. I've been thinking about doing it for
a while, but I just never got around to it. It's darn cozy. Wonderful inventions
these.
And that's it. I'm watching Friends as I write, and I'm about out of things to say.
