January 13, 2002 - Sunday
A day late reporting, but quite good!
In the morning I got up quite late. The night before we had invited Fumihiko's Mum
to come out with us for sushi. She said yes, but in the morning she refused. So,
I did laundry first and then Fumihiko and I went out.
We went to Kintaro Sushi, a revolving sushi restaurant. The sushi goes around in
front of the diners and they can grab the plates that they want. It's really fun
actually, and not too expensive. I only got burned once, when I grabbed tarako maki
by mistake. I thought I was getting tuna maki. Sigh.
After eating we went to Jusco to try to buy some quilts, but then I suggested that
we go to another furniture store. We did, but they were really really expensive,
so we just went back to Jusco and bought them there. The only bad thing was that
we didn't get quilt covers yet as the only ones they had were incredibly ugly and I wanted
something nice, that matches.
I forgot to say, at the other furniture store I bought a zaizu, a floor chair and
a floor cushion for my apartment. The furniture that I have there is old and kind
of yucky!
After we shopped we came back home and got changed. I wanted to wear some make up
and I did my hair too. I wore my long black dress with little flowers and looked
pretty good. At least that's what Fumihiko said. He wore a suit, and apart from
his new haircut, looked pretty darn good. Yes, once again I'm married to Forrest Gump!
We drove over to the Grand Elsun for the dinner. It was a thank you from the hall
to all of the brides and grooms that got married there, and their families. The
supper was quite nice, but one of the most interesting things that happened was that
the couple sitting across from us were the parents of a former student of mine! When the
woman heard my name and where I work, she asked if I remembered her daughter. Of
course I did, and ended up talking to her on the telephone! Then, she came down
to the Grand Elsun to say hello! I was very surprised.
After the party, Fumihiko and I went to my apartment to play PlayStation2. He popped
in BioHazard, but unfortunately he proceeded to get motion sickness and felt sick.
That meant that he wanted to go to bed. So, he went to bed at midnight!
I stayed up for a couple of hours reading the latest Minette Walters novel, "The Shape
of Snakes." It is darn good and I can't wait to get back to it.
I went to bed around 2, but I didn't sleep all that well. I had drunk so much oolong
tea at the party that I had to keep going to the toilet! Oh well, at least I didn't
have to go down stairs there, like I do at our house!
Night night!
