Keith says that he has sung for as long as he can remember. He would walk around their house and sing when he was little. Although he doesn't recall it, his mom said that he wrote his first song when he was 9, and it was a love song :) Then, in college he lived next door to someone who played the acoustic guitar in the dorms, and he fell in love with the sound. He taught himself how to play after that, and somewhere during his undergrad education he decided to study abroad in Japan (Japanese was his major). This later became the subject for one of his songs called (appropriately) Japan. He started getting gigs at various coffeehouses around the area, and played solo for a bit, until he saw Matt in the audience that one (fateful) night.
