Cool Stuff I Did in High School Took Latin and Mythology from Mrs. Bowls (those wacky Latin Banquets--the original "toga party"). Was a Bat Girl briefly...thanks to Val Bass. Was a Drill Team manager...thanks to Kay Niland (well at least it got me out of PE!). International Club was always fun, those rummage sales, dance marathons, and of course all those interesting exchange students! I was a Girl Scout long after it stopped being "cool", worked at Camp Tecuya every Summer. My favorite classes were Microbiology (Mr. Park) and Human Anatomy (Ms. Jones). Other favorite teachers were Mr. Carl and Mr. Belch. I had a lot of really great friends--I'm looking forward to getting back in touch!
Cool Stuff I've Done in the Last 25 Years Traveled around Europe with Jeanine Dettloff (we did the backpack/youth hostel/railpass thing) and met her Norwegian family and friends. Got tired of being a waitress in SLO town, so I moved to San Diego to go back to college...and waitress! Met my hubby in college, got married in 1981, dropped out to spend the 80's birthing and raising 3 great kids. One thing I'm very proud of is giving birth at home to my 2 youngest. I was also able to be a full-time mom while the kids were little, thanks to my wonderful and supportive husband. Volunteered with the La Leche League and Autism Society. Spent most of the 90's getting kids raised and getting slowly back to college. Finally got my BSN from San Diego State last May. And now I have this great job as a postpartum nurse!(I guess I'm a late bloomer). I work 11 pm to 7 am, so I can still keep track of my three (mostly) great teenagers. Having kids in High School does help bring back those HS memories!
