Ba Gua Life Areas

Career - Career is the Life Area that corresponds to your daily vocational routine (including money earned from your career) as well as to your life path.

The Career area should always be enhanced when you are looking for a new job or want to change the energy in your present work, or when developing your life goals.

The primary color of Career is Black, although Blue can also enhance this Life Area.

Symbols that enhance the Career area are water fountains, pictures of rivers or waterfalls, or aquariums.

The Career area is the place to put business cards and brochures about your work, or even to set up your office.

Knowledge and Self- Cultivation - Knowledge and Self-Cultivation is the Life Area that corresponds to your (mental) inner knowledge.

This area also relates to your ability to experience "meaning" in your life and to do those things that make you feel good and enhance who you are. This includes having the time to do the things that you want to do in your life.

The Knowledge and Self-Cultivation area should be enhanced when you are going to school or otherwise participating in scholastic endeavors. This area can be enhanced when you feel that you do not have the time to do all of the things that you would like to do.

The colors of this area are Blue and Yellow.

Symbols that enhance this area are Books and Computers.

This is an excellent area for meditation, reading, or any type of scholastic work.

Health and Family - This is the Life Area that corresponds to your health and to your interaction with your family.

Originally, this area’s name translated from the Chinese I Ching as "Thunder," which was later interpreted as Elders, which referred to anyone who is superior to you in age or social status.

Therefore, this area can deal with authority figures in your family (parents, grandparents, or ancestors), authority figures at work (the boss or your manager), as well as the larger-scale authority figures of government agencies.

This area is particularly important for people who do healing work.

This Life Area should be enhanced when you are working on family or authority figure issues, when involved in the healing arts, or when healing yourself.

The color of this area is Green. Symbols that enhance this area are plants (real or silk). Pictures of plants and trees, or images that symbolize health and healing, are also very effective. This is an excellent location to do healing work; if this is not possible, at least try to face this Life Area when engaged in healing work.

Wealth & Prosperity - Wealth and Prosperity is the Life Area that deals with your financial situation and your "quality of life."

This life area should be enhanced when you are trying to increase the money flow in your life, or when tying to improve the overall quality of your life.

The colors of this area are Red, Purple, and Green. Symbols that can enhance this area are plants (healthy), which symbolize your wealth growing and are preferably plants with round leaves to symbolize coins.

A Money Frog (a frog sculpture holding a coin in its mouth) may be placed here.

Images of wealth, such as coins or money can also be very powerful here; however if you do use actual money to enhance this area, it is essential that you do not remove it!

Fame and Reputation - Fame and Reputation is the Life Area that deals with your reputation, your public image, and how others perceive you.

This Life Area should be enhanced when you are trying to improve your image or popularity, whether socially-related or career-oriented.

The color of this area is Red.

Symbols that enhance this area are candles, lights, and images of things you want to be acknowledged for, such as degrees, diplomas, certificates and awards.

Relationships - This is the Life Area that corresponds to your relations with your significant other, to finding a significant other, to your relationships with your close friends, and to your relationship with yourself.

This Life Area should be enhanced when you are trying to achieve or improve any relationship.

The colors of this area are Pink, Red, Yellow, Tan and Beige, although flesh tones can also be used.

Symbols that enhance this area include anything in pairs: pictures of people or animals together in pairs, images of hearts, or flowers (real or silk).

A vase of red roses tied with a red string, or the Chinese Peony flower, are symbols of love andrelationship. Remember to keep all symbols that you select for this corner in pairs, and be cautious when introducing more than one pair of anything, for this symbolizes more than one relationship.

Children and Creativity - Children and Creativity is the Life Area that deals with your children, your creative flow, and your inner child and youthfulness.

This Life Area should be enhanced when you are trying to enhance the lives of your children, trying to have children, tying to reconnect or strengthen the connection with your inner child, or trying to enhance your creative flow.

The colors of this area are White, Gold, Silver, and Pastels.

.Symbols that enhance this area are images of children, child-like objects such as toys, crayons, stuffed animals, and images that inspire our creative flow.

Travel and Helpful People - Travel and Helpful People is the Life Area that deals with opportunities and helpful friends in your life, your spiritual connection & (spiritual) inner knowledge, and travel or finding a new home.

This Life Area should be enhanced when you are trying to increase the quantity or quality of helpful people in your life, when you wish to attract opportunity, or when you desire to strengthen or develop your spiritual connection with the Source.

The colors of this area are Gray and Silver.

Symbols that can enhance this area are images of your spiritual guides or images of your perception of the Source. Often angels, spirit animals, and pictures of those you feel protect and watch over you are recommended for this area.

Pictures of places you have traveled to, or places to which you would like to travel, can also enhance this area. If you are looking for a new residence, include pictures and images of what you are looking for in a new home.

.

The Center - The central area is not actually part of the Ba Gua. It is merely the middle of the house or room where the energies of the eight outer areas all come to bear.

The Center can be enhanced with the color Orange.
