My name is Tony Hawa. When I finished my high school, I went two years into a drafting school in down town Chicago. I got my Architecture Drafting Certificate. I worked four years at an engineering company as a draftsman. Chicago is a great city! But my folks been dreaming to move to the sunshine state. We decided in 1975 to move to Southern California; because Chicago weather was too cold for my mother! California is warm and nice for her and for my sister too. I got married to a nice girl from San Jose Ca, and we have four kids (3 girls and 1 boy) We were very happy family. I was very active. I worked two years as car dealer at Santa Ana Dodge. I was a top salesman for a while. In 1979 I bought a small Grocery store in Anaheim. I stayed 20 years in the grocery business until I had a stroke. I was 46 (too young). I was paralyzed on my left side, leaving me with limited speech. Why me, I ask myself too many times. I was in great depression. Then I joined RIO (Rehabilitation Institute of Orange). Seven years later, I regained almost everything. I can walk and talk, thank God. My family supported me all those years, especially my wife. Four years ago, I was introduced to the computer world. I bought a new computer and I was very happy because it helped me to read and spell better. Three years ago, my sister Leila suggested to go to school at ROP in Orange. She took me there to register my name in computer class and I was very happy about it. It gave me hope for my future. In three years, I got seven certificates, plus two awards for being a good student and having a creative mind. I love art and music. My teachers were impressed with my work! My Certificates are:
Computer Skills; Computer Business Applications; Internet Technology; Graphic and Design 1; Graphic and Design 2; Web Page Development; Web Page Programming;
Also I received, from the Orange Unified School District, an award of "Certificate of Excellence"
