A new dartboard graces the Lounge...
Hall's Lounge
Cozy to the point of downright stuffy this lounge exudes a salty briny air. Overstuffed and comfortable looking are the chairs of dark blue that reside at one end of this circular room. The smattering of tables that they surround are nothing more than tops with scarred wooden legs attached as well they should be. The bases of the tables and chairs are waterstained and marked by mild salt buildup. Rugs worn with age decorate the polished floor of this relaxation area soft greens and browns making barefeet swoon. Paintings of charts and various sea mammals and fish have been painstakingly added to the walls creating the atmosphere of their mother sea. To one side of the bridge is a wide ledge... [look closer]

Jessa enters and as usual the senior appy has a plate full of food. "Hi Shim!" She peers at the game, "Oooh, when'd we get a dartboard?"
Kyu whoops, cackles, spins and tosses a dart... no, not aimed at Jessa, but at the board.

Jessa grins, "I love darts!" Not that Jess has much of an opportunity to play them, but hey, it's fun when you do get to play. "This is a great game." Really. Beam.
Kyu blushes. Totally unexpected, that was. Betcha this one will be a lot worse. "Pure luck!" she sings out, selecting a dart and aiming.

Kyu cringes. It's luck, I swear, and only luck! "Well, I have a feeling I aim off-target, and throw off-target, and two wrongs happen to make a right." Closing her eyes this time, she just throws. Let's see if it's pure luck.

Kyu opens her eyes, to see said dart protuding from the bronze ring. "Err... looks like it." Eyes wide open now, she catches Jessa's throw and gives her the thumbs up to. "Nice one!" And then an ack for Shimmer, who seems to be... ah well, more practice, better fun. Or heck the practice, and just throw like her now!

Jessa grins at Shimmer and shrugs, "Eh, it's fun still." Because, throwing darts is fun. What beats hurling pointed objects at something? Nothing! Hah! Yeah.
Kyu snorts in vague amusement, throws caution to the wind and tosses a dart casually into the air. More fun than something to get better at, for her

Shimmer grins at Jessa, and rolls her eyes. "Looks like we're being...wow!! Great toss!" she interuppts her statement and chalks it up on the scoreboard, grinning, "Now Kyu's only 20 ahead of us..."

Jessa grins and winks at Shimmer. Combined efforts or something? Like combining scores, or something like that. Yeah. "This is a fun game." In case you all didn't know that.
Katarinna flops into a chair.
Kyu intones solemnly: "Luck, a fickle woman be, unlike the sea." Some charm picked up somewhere, apparently. And hopes that luck doesn't drop the heavy end of the hammer down on her head now.

Kyu wibbles... whatever is a wibble, anyway? Waving to the journeyman she doesn't know, either, with one hand, as the other prepares to launch another dart into the air.

With the game over the senior appy returns to the plate of food that she had collected, but set aside for the duration of the game. Jess grins at Kyu, "Yup, that was good luck." Either that or the girl's got natural talent. "That was fun," she says, stretching before plunking into a nice soft chair and starting to eat a meatroll.
Katarinna settles herself back into the chair she was in before and reaches for a pitcher of klah.
Kyu shrugs, and sees her plate of food empty, and two satiated firelizards lying down next to it. "Oh dear. Looks like I'll have to go get some more." And she does, from the dishes lying around for the hungry.
Jessa giggles, "You gotta watch out for that," is cautioned to Kyu with a big grin. Then the senior appy peers at the unfamiliar journeyman, "I'm Jessa," she introduces herself.
Kyu shrugs at Jessa, grinning to the journeyman and interjecting. "And I'm Kyu."
Katarinna nods at the two apprentices. "Katarinna. well met. I'm afraid I haven't been around mcuh for while."
Jessa grins, "Oooh, are you from Southern?" It's a possibility, and it might explain why Jess has never seen her.
Katarinna chuckles. "No, no. I've just kind have absented myself from the hall for much of the time."
Jessa grins and nods, then leans in closer, "Ooh, have you done anything fun and interesting?" Because it's always fun to hear what other 'phincrafters, especially rankers, have been doing.
Kyu chuckles at Jessa's curiosity, and decides to finish her food first, before other flits do it for her. Take a back seat, she will, and let the older apprentices shoot off the questions while she listens.
Katarinna shrugs and twirls a spoon i her klah mug. "Oh nothing much. A bit of charting here and there. mostly just updating old maps."
Jessa nods and grins, then resumes attacking her food with all the viciousness of a hungry firelizard. Ok, well, she's not that bad. She does eat neatly and all, but she does eat quickly, and a lot of food at that.
Kyu shrugs. "Is it interesting?" Question posed mostly to the journeyman... a real, live cartographer! What next, a real, live dragonrider? Teehee.
Katarinna yawns. "Sometimes. Depends on what You're doing really."
Jessa finishes the meatroll she's currently munching on and then starts in on a bubblie. Suddenly her gold gets hungry and begins to crawl from Jess' shoulder down to the plate in the hopes she can snatch a morsel or two to eat.
Kyu chuckles, both at that and the gold's antics, and decides not to pursue the questions further. Thinking and bored, she snickers softly to herself and sends a piece of meat flying in the gold's direction, but away from anyone else. Wouldn't do for someone to get hit with that, oh no.
The gold isn't paying too much attention, or rather her attention is caught rather late. Navi doesn't reach the plate, rather she stops as a piece of meat hits Jess' chest. The gold 'lizard quickly snatches it up, while Jess simply gapes at Navi, and then gapes at Kyu. "Hey!" the senior appy offers in protest, directed at both firelizard and the thrower of the meat.
Kyu has the decency and good grace to blush. "Sorry. My bad." Before, of course, breaking out into an impish smile once more. Clearly up to something again, she is.
Katarinna eyes both apprentices wairly and sips her klah.
Jessa sniffs indignently at Kyu, and then she throws a half-eaten meatroll in Kyu's direction with a grin. Yup to something, eh? Then Jess notices an attack from another front, as the firelizard tries to snatch up a piece of meat from the plate. "No," Jess says, pulling the plate away from the 'lizard.
Kyu cackles, and raises a hand to swat the meatroll back, but before she can do it, a heretofore-unnoticed flit - one of those which deign to plague the hall - swoops down, grabbing said meatroll and buffeting Kyu with her wings in the process. "Ah well."
Jessa giggles, and then peers closely at the incoming 'lizard, because it could have been one of her other ones. But it's not. "Yeah. I thought so." She returns to Kyu with a grin, and then pulls her food away from her hungry gold again, "Get your own food," she says to the begging beauty.
Kyu shrugs, sending a though at her firelizard. ::KeepOff. Unless Jess says yes.:: Frowning slightly, though... wasn't he a little too young for this kind of activity. "So... a lazy Hall day... what next? Darts again?"
Jessa shrugs at Kyu, "Oh, I dunno. Maybe." But at the moment Jess is content to munch on a cookie, and feed bits of meat and a meatroll to her firelizard. Lazy day indeed, but only after her chores were done earlier. Ayup.
Chores. Speaking of chores, Kyu had better clear the dirty plates to one corner before it becomes time to wash them. Rising from her seat, she begins, rightfully, with her own, and swoops up others on the way to a side table.
Jessa blinks in surprise at Kyu. Whoa. Scary. Cleaning freak, baby. Jess shrugs her shoulders though and goes back to eating, because eating is a Good Thing. And she does share some fodo with her gold 'lizard. Can't starve the thing, now can she?
Kyu returns, bearing a plate with a bit more food, which she places by Jessa and proceeds to sit in an adjacent chair. "Mine are thinking hungrythoughts at me, too. Despite having just eaten not too long ago. Thought it might be useful." A shrug follows that, thank goodness for shoulders and all.
Jessa nods, "Yeah, mine get hungry all the time. I swear, they don't even really eat it, they must just hide it somewhere and hoard it." The senior appy still has plenty of food on her plate, although it's diminishing rather quickly between her and the firelizard.
Kyu suggests a solution. "Between, perhaps. Wonder when they'll start preferring to hunt for themselves? Or are we too convenient?" Not that she really minds, unless she'd been trying to do something urgent.
Katarinna has disconnected.
Jessa giggles and shrugs, "I dunno, sometimes I really wonder. Shim's seem to hunt for themselves, whereas mine always pester me for food." Although the word pester is said with a bit of affection, suggesting that although Jess complains, she really does like her firelizards.
Kyu chuckles. "Indeed." Emotions remain unsaid, although all who are saddled with them hungry aerial pranksters know the feeling. Wiggling her toes, she leans back some more, and a yawn escapes. "Oh dear," she mumbles, raising one hand to cover that indiscretion.
Jessa finally finishes the plate of food. Aaah. Full stomach. Or ... is she really full? Perhaps not, as she starts to eat a meatroll from the plate of food that Kyu brought in. Jess giggles at Kyu, "Tired?" she teases.
Kyu shrugs. "Probably," she admits, running fingers through her hair. "The last week or so must have been one of the most activity-packed ones I've ever had." Or was it longer? Befuddled minds don't think clearly, and she's never had occassion to count before, anyway.
Jessa grins, "Yeah, the sevendays are pretty packed and full of action." Keeps things lively and from being boring though, "That's the way it tends to be here." Or in any Craft for that matter. "Been getting enough sleep? Eating enough?"
Kyu nods. "For sure, yes. And my flits have definitely been eating more than enough." So maybe she did stay awake the first night, but that was only the first night. And dolphinsong is a beautiful way to be lulled to sleep.
Jessa grins and nods, "Yeah, firelizards eat a lot." A lot is a bit of an understatement though. "Well, good to hear you're adjusting then."
Kyu nods, choosing to just lie back, eyes closed, for now. "It'll be ok." A faint smile crosses her lips, as one firelizard decides to curl up around her neck.
Jessa grins and nods, "It is okay, it's quite fine and fun actually." In short, it's greaaat! Erm, yeah. Jess grins and tosses another piece of meatroll at Kyu. Close your eyes, better watch out, else you might get pegged with something. Or in Jess' case, thrown in the water.
Kyu gets pegged with a meatroll on the nose, yepyepyep. "Ooh, smells great." Annoyed or interrupted or sleepy? Can't really tell, there. And saidflit lifts a neck and gobbles. Yum.
Jessa giggles, "I know, don't meatrolls smell so -yummy-?" Could that be a hint that more might come? Perhaps.
Kyu grumbles softly, and opens one eye. "Perhaps I should go back to the dorms instead?" Suggestive, that hint may be. Whatnext?
Jessa giggles and shrugs, "Y'know, the lounge isn't really for sleeping. If you sleep here, you may be thrown in the water, or have food thrown at you. Or someone may prank you." Because out in the lounge you are fair game, don'tcha know that? Well, know Kyu does.
Kyu sighs, and surrenders to inevitably. "Better head for the dorms if I want my nap, then." Picking herself up off her seat, she heads in that direction.
Kyu walks to the northwest.
