ACE IS BACK, AGAIN!! It`s been almost another year,but Ace returned to the Links at the Palm Springs Muni, Legend Course. Still fighting a Bad Back and a bum left knee, gave it Hell anyway.

Since retiring it has been hard to get the old "Desert Rat Pack" together, so have found some seniors that live in my complex to play. This week was my Buddy Mitch, also retired. He`s a good golfer but fighting some injuries also!

This week we played the "Legend Course", it`s a nice, fairly short course with not many hazards. We have got smarter with age & played the Gold (senior) tees. Just Hell to get Old. We played fast & enjoyed good weather. Also the beer was cold! Was a fun day, but did run out of gas on the backside.

Mitch played well, just couldn`t buy a putt. He had 1 par (par 5), just spinning out for birdie, 7 bogies, 9 doubles & a bad luck triple (had to chip out & 3 putted). He should do better the next time. He drove the ball OK, just fighting a slice. Like everyone the short game goes with no practice, lipped-out a bunch of putts.

He should be ready for the next round, I`ve caught him going to the range a couple of times, lol.

Ace started like a house of fire, good drive, nice 5 iron & 2 putt for par. LOL, Mitch gave a look like he was being conned, but it didn`t take look for Ace to come back to Earth! Had 4 pars, 12 bogies, 1 double & a brutal triple on a par 3. In the trap, over the green, back over the green, finally on & 2 putts ! Easy 6! Did drive the ball well & the short game was good, except missed alot of short putts(under 6ft).

Actually ran out of gas on the back nine, but that was expected.

Should be back on schedule for the summer, just need a ton of practice. See, nothing changes but the time and the date. A year ago was crying about practice, BUT!! Oh well, Hope is Eternal!!
