About

Enzo Maresca is a product of the youth set-up at AC Milan. Maresca, who is captain of the Italy U-20 team, spent two years at Milan before moving to Cagliari where he chalked up 20 League appearances.

His performances in Serie B brought him to the attention of West Bromwich Albion, the English club that signed him in 1998. Maresca went on to make 60 appearances, scoring five goals during an 18-month stint in the First Division before his transfer to Turin.

Maresca, who officially signed for Juventus on 1 February 2000, is a midfielder whose most habitual role is just in front of the defence - but he is also capable of taking up a more attacking midfield role.

A confident young player, he learned a lot from his formative experiences in English football. He left home (his family are based in Salerno) at the tender age of 11 in order to pursue his dream of becoming a professional football. Enzo signed with Juventus to start the season but was transfered to Bologna October 16, 2000. After seeing much action in Bologna last year, he went back at Juve, in 2001-2002 but unfortunatly did not see much action on this squad filled with many talented players. He is now on loan to Piacenza for 2002-2003.
