Christian Vieri is known as a man of few words, but as you can tell by his stats he is a man of many goals. Which may explain why his current team Inter Milan was willing to pay a record $45 million for him in a move that drew the attention of even the Vatican. The Vatican criticized the move saying the amount of money spent on just one sports star could help countless hungry children and people in need. Lazio's president declared the trade followed Vieri's demands for more money, a charge Vieri denies. He has however had run-ins with coaches at previous teams, still Vieri says all the moves have made him a better player. Vieri's mother says they nicknamed him "il mostro," the monster, because he could never stand still...and if you've seen on the field you know it's true..he's great to watch as he sets up plays and moves in for the goal.
