     This the story of George Fraser, children's bookseller, a lonely, timid fellow, living in a dream world of guns, gangsters and glamorous women, purely in his fantasies. He comes in contact with a vicious thug, Brant, and his spiteful sister, Cora, who manipulate him into using his gun. Soon he is caught in a labyrinth of violence, robbery and murder, as Cora deceives him again and again. Fed up, he approaches a rival  gang to take revenge on his behalf........ but by this time, the police have already caught up with him.
