     Kenway Holland is a happily married bank employee, who finds himself with nothing to do in the evenings, as his wife has to visit her parents suddenly. On an impulse, he telephones a call girl, Fay, who invites him to her flat. There is a thunderstorm and a power cut - when the lights come on, Ken discovers that Fay has been killed with an ice pick in her own flat. Ken must remove all traces of his visit and flee, but soon he is up to his ears in political intrigue, blackmail, mobsters and hard-boiled characters. Ken must prove his innocence and identify Fay's killer, before his wife comes back, or his family life as well as career are doomed...
